It's a big project, and targets 1.6+ billion people. It should have been extremely successful, but the members on there made it into a small place.
Allah be with you.
Speaking from personal experience, I was lambasted there purely for my taste in games (namely, JRPG), and the problem is, they aren't even everything I play rofl (check my Steam games and how much time I spend on them).
Got called an otaku, a weeaboo, and I'm not even all that into anime. What's worse, and what caused me to write you back, is the personal attacks. I got sent personal attacks, and one even questioned how I've yet to recieve 80 lashes because I'm a Saudi that enjoys RPGs. I told him to grow up, and stop being this backward.
These came from one of the most active users, so that should give you an idea on some of regulars there with the high post-count.
But I didn't want to cause hostilities, so that's why when you e-mailed me, I just told you MG wasn't for me.
Now that you're re-making the site, I couldn't help but share my experience and give my piece.
If and when MuslimsGamer gets back up someday, please change the focal aspect of the site.
Old MuslimGamer: Gamers who join the site to talk about Islam.
Instead, make it: Muslims who join the site to talk about gaming!
There are plenty of sites that make Muslims communicate with each other about Islam, but there are zero sites that make gaming Muslims talk with each other about gaming.
IMO, that's why MG failed. Everybody showed his/her ugly, extremist, sectarian side on the forum, and nobody cared about playing games.
