Note: Most of my Breach play time was spent using the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided client, thus the meagre play time for this standalone F2P version.

Overview / Pros
Fun little high speed FPS with lots of different ways to beat levels. A wide variety of different types of guns arranged in four distinct tiers (from low to high: C, B, A, and S) that use up to three ammo variants (normal, armor piercing, and EMP), as well as guns that use special stun, lag (slows down enemies), and control ammo. Each weapon can be equipped with up to three weapon abilities which you can swap out at will, making it easy to adjust to each level. If you want 100%, you have to beat each level a different way depending on which of the three level scores (high score, speedrun, or all data collected) you go after.

Cons
  • Microtransactions
You buy "microchips" with real money and can then exchange them for "booster packs" with high-class, albeit random, items. Whoever actually does this has lost control over his life.

  • Community
Nearly dead. This is a big deal, because sending (and receiving) challenges is needed to get booster packs, with both players profiting from sending a challenge. Unless of course, as is the case right now, the challenged player just refuses the challenge. In which case no one gets anything, not even the backup pack usually reserved for the loser of the challenge. So forget sending challenges to any of the random users the game recommends when sending a challenge; of the 30 challenges I sent within the first few days of playing only one (!) was not refused.

  • In-game information
Which ammo works against that prime unit I have to kill? Or which weapon? Or which weapon ability? Most of those things you have to find out for yourself by the painstaking process of trial-and-error. You don't even know which units are to be expected in a level until after you have played it for the first time, so a lot of time is wasted scouting the level once, and then returning after having adjusted your loadout.

  • Balancing
Horrible. Get a weapon with non-standard ammo, the weapon ability that reduces energy consumption when the weapon clip is empty, a fully upgraded cloak and energy augmentations, and energy loadout packs (which increase your total energy when they are in your inventory), and you can coast through 90% of levels without ever uncloaking. On the other hand, levels with prime units (or standard unit) elimination are almost impossible in the late game unless you have the perfect combination of weapon, speciality ammo, and weapon abilities for the particular unit you need to kill.

  • Vanishing items
If you are unlucky, the S-class weapon you spent the whole game improving is lost due to a still-unfixed bug: https://gtm.you1.cn/app/337000/discussions/1/1473095965305112579/

Summary
Only play this game with a friend! Unless you send each other challenges daily to get booster (and backup) packs, you will have a bad time! Everything is riding on those packs, you need the items they provide, and lots of them! If you only play levels (and the three daily challenges), you will be outpaced by the adaptive AI at the start of the Network 3A (the penultimate network) and your progress will slow to a crouch as you have to wait 24h for a new set of challenges.

As the game is right now (and probably will remain until Square Enix/Nixxes shuts down the servers), I do not recommend playing it, unless you both enjoyed Mankind Divided, REALLY like this type of game, have a friend to play it with, and are prepared to basically start all over if you are hit by the vanishing item bug!
