There are a number of ... quirks that need to be worked out, and they are whenever they are pointed out. The real reason to embrace this simulation is the atmosphere. Everything down to the fonts have been painstakingly research and just feel authentic. Soon it will be bug free and maybe as I write this review. Just think of all the hours of enjoyment and atmospheric bless you will miss until them.
Buy it now and reap the full rewards soon and in the meanwhile bath in the American Civil War simulated at it's best.

This simulation gets so many things right. It can be as complicated as you want yet can be played by letting the computer take care of the mundane tasks. The choices are there if you want to deal with them or you can play the commander and chief and let the AI do the detailed work.
Example: you can have your units reinforced automatically or you can decide which ones need priority.
The naval game is very well done with the hundreds of convoys and escorts handled by the AI while you can run a task force or two for special missions and invasion.
Non-turn interdiction is a welcome feature. No more invasions during the enemy's turn, without the chance of intercepting him at sea and crippling the attack. Both air and naval units can intercept. You had better have suppressed you opponents naval and air units before your grand invasion.
Some of you are going to roll your eyes when you learn that there is only one land unit per hex. In this game it works because the one unit represents the myriad of multiple units by allowing you to add or subtract certain abilities such as supply by truck, supply by air, acquire one of six special abilities.
From the Manual:
"Land units operate on land tiles and beaches, may be transported,
may invade, have 2 advancement types, and have 6 specialty types
allowing for a single land unit to have 14 different configurations. "
You can stack land, air and sea in the same hex.
Oil, manpower, logistics level all determine what you can build, move or reinforce. Capturing resources is vitally important if you want to keep moving forward.
Most units have two modes that can be changed every turn. Land units can Defend or Hold, Naval units can choose Raider or Fleet and air units can choose Support or Mission. I’m not going to explain them now, but just pointing out all the choices that are available.
Large units can be split into two smaller units and then recombined.
Do you want to spend time putting your best HQ in command of critical attacks/defenses, or just make sure every unit is within command radius?
it’s up to you how complicated and how much in the weeds you want to get. The choices can be quite overwhelming or a welcome change. Type A micro managers will probably get more bang for their buck but might miss the critical opportunity that a more creative player might use to his/her advantage. A Monty vs Rommel type situation.
Anyway, I could go on for a long time, but you should stop reading these reviews, buy the game and start playing.

Steam VR won't start and won't reinstall. Can't play most VR games.

Speech recognition is too hard to setup. If your mic is working is should work in Radio Commander. I dictated this with my mic. yet RC says that I'm not setup for voice recognition, Please fix this

Fantastic simulation. Feel like your flying in WW2 just like grandpa.
