SWEET LIBERTY, MY LEG!

Absurdly addictive and extremely polished for early access. Can't wait to see more weapons and progression added. Among the greats in the genre, and well worth the $2.99.

Quite fun and addictive despite having few weapons and upgrades available yet. Much larger skill tree than most in the genre, with some interesting upgrades. Really looking forward to revisiting this as more content is added. Keep at it, this is awesome!

Update: The developer was very responsive and updated this game constantly but has been MIA for 8 months, I'm assuming this is abandoned and without the promise of further updates, I can't recommend it anymore.

If I wanted to hear a painful grunt every time I took the stairs I'd just play my real life. 1/10.

I really wanted to like this game, and given the positive reviews in media, expected I would. Imagine for a moment that Valheim, in addition to its $20 price tag, had launched with a real-money cosmetic store in-game, and a battle pass. Do you think that game would have such a dedicated community if it had such transparent cash-grab elements baked in from the start? The games are not similar in any way, but Valheim is just a great example of a well-made indie game that respects its players and doesn't see them as wallets to be milked.

In addition, the game itself is just not very fun. As many have noted, the combat is weightless, impactless, and boring. You literally just hold the attack button down until the health bars go down all the way. Each attack that comes out of your character is punctuated by an annoying scream or grunt, which gets old after mere seconds of play. The sound quality is terrible and lifeless. Gameplay is unbelievably tedious, just gathering things, turning them in, watching numbers go up, and repeating ad nauseam. I can't imagine feeling motivated to do this game after game because it became numbingly boring after a single session.

Definitely skip this one or wait and hope they fix some of the issues eventually.

To Chimeric: I just want you to know that I tried out a whole mess of games over the past week via alternate means and yours was by far the most captivating. You've obviously put in so much thought, effort, and heart into this thing. I saw where you helped someone with an illegitimate copy bring their save over to the steam version and when developers understand this kind of thing and how it can expose so many people to their game and bring in new fans and paying customers, that means a lot to me. I want you to have my money and my heartfelt thanks for giving me something awesome and fun to obsess over during a weird and uncertain time in the world.
