I could even excuse the fact that I have to play it all stretched out horizontally if I didn't keep getting that glitch where workers just stop working. Yes, I did that thing where I deleted all the inexplicably-not-producing-stuff structures and saved and quit and reloaded. That worked, except for when it didn't. No, I didn't need some other resource for the worker to start his work; it was wellworkers I was having trouble with.

I enjoyed what I played, but once I literally couldn't play it anymore, it couldn't possibly pass.

It's a game with a hella aesthetic, and the supreme feeling when you finally get the path Just Right can't be denied.

That said, I often spent more time looking for my targets than trying to set up my pathing - even with their yellow outfits, they're easily missable, especially with all the also-yellow fires and headlights about the place. It can get frustrating, but not so much that I ever considered giving up.

It's a short game, too.

In short, it's a game that's probably worth fifteen dollars, but if you were to buy it on sale, it wouldn't be anything to be ashamed of, either.

Pros:
I fuggin' love Picross.

Cons:
I'm not sure I love Picross enough to interrupt an admittedly interesting story every two minutes for a 15x15 puzzle.
With the exception of the main protagonists most of the recurring characters make you wish the murderers would expand the pool of victims.
What do you mean I missed a hidden puzzle somewhere and now I'm locked out of an S rank. What do mean I have to play through the case again to pixel-hunt for it. This destroys the KChasm.

I've set this review as a "thumbs up," (because Steam won't let me not put any "do you recommend" at all) but in truth I'm more ambivalent here. Like I said, I fuggin' love Picross, but I probably won't finish the game GIVE ME MY S-RANK. JUST LET ME PLAY THE MISSING PUZZLE FROM A MENU OR SOMETHING THE LOCKED S-RANK PUZZLES ARE RIGHT THERE THEY ARE MOCKING ME. MOCKING ME.

This shouldn't have happened to me.
