Amazing, unique world design. I wish the bosses were a bit easier and the world exploration a bit less linear. I agree with most people that this is a very nice combination of DS3 and Sekiro (haven't played Bloodborne).

New to Souls? Play Elden Ring.
Want more Elden Ring? Play Dark Souls 3.
Want more Dark Souls? Play Dark Souls.

That was my order, anyway. DS1 feels a bit more clunky than the other two above, but the level design is excellent, and it’s a classic. Difficulty wise I would rate it similarly to the other two, each boss taking between 1 to 10 attempts until <that infamous gank fight with the golden knights>.

I played all Fromsoft titles with mouse+keyboard and I prefer it over the controller (tried both). Whatever you’re used to works.

Very cool crew experience. One experienced member can help the others to get up to speed quite well, and will be rewarded with a well-oiled chaos machine.

I bought this years ago on Steam already, and gave it back as »too difficult«. I didn’t get it, this nonsense isn’t worth my time!

A few years later, I tried Elden Ring and was hooked. Being more approachable, it taught me the way of liking tough challenges, and it made me reconsider the other FromSoftware games. I bought Sekiro on discount and loved it, afterwards I decided to revisit my old first enemy, Dark Souls 3. And lo and behold, I love it, now that I know what to expect.

It really is a unique feeling to be careful all the time, to respect even the most standard trash mobs. The relief after a difficult passage, seeing yourself master enemies that seemed all too powerful not 10 minutes ago.
