Well these types of idle games are like Marmite aren't they? You love 'em or hate 'em. This one I feel has been created exceptionally well and I love it. I've bought both of the content packs that give me a nice gold boost each day. I've also collected every achievement yet STILL play it!

Basically, you are a very keen house keeper with a range of vacuum cleaners with several locations to clean. You get the opportunity to earn each vacuum as you play, as well as earning the right to vacuum different locations.

"Where's the fun in that?" I hear you cry.
"Have you never wanted to vacuum the Moon or Mars!" comes my happy reply.

So there it is.

Unfortunately the game has had very little impact on improving my real-life motivation and ability to use a vacuum cleaner. Maybe the next update will remedy that somehow...

Ah yes, the original Ghost Recon. Released in 2001. I remember buying this back in the day and I think my PC was a Pentium 200 MMX with a whopping 16mb of ram! I still fondly remember the massive CRT monitor that came with it with a huge 17" screen! Those were the days.

But, 23 years on, and I still find I come back to this game now and then. It actually scales up well in terms of display choices - 4K, Ultra HD 3840 x 2160 my current monitor allows and Ghost Recon accommodates this admirably. The textures - especially the wall textures on the castle - hold up incredibly well.

As for the gameplay? Well, it was the first game I played that involved stealth. Sure, Metal Gear Solid, the Thief series and others implemented stealth very well, but I always felt this game just took the idea to another level. I loved - and still love - all the crawling and creeping around before I lob a grenade through a window, or mow down some hapless enemy soldiers with my uzi. And of course, the sniper rifle is the bees knees.

So, I definitely recommend this near 25 year old game! You'll have a blast (pun intended).

If EVE had a Robin Reliant offspring then this would be it - smaller, more compact, a bit wobbly when taking a corner at high speed.

Astrox: Hostile Space Excavation is a quirky little affair. Graphically, a mixed bag. The asteroids are flat, shaded affairs. To my mind, even the asteroids in Wing Commander 1, released in 1990, had more detailed asteroids than this game. But still, it's the gameplay that counts and Astrox:Hostile Space Excavation is pretty solid on that count.

There are a good variety of ships, the mining is straightforward, easy and even relaxing (as long as you keep an eye on the proximity of enemy ships, but in practice, the odds are low that there flight path will bring them close enough that they detect you). The combat can be all set to auto - auto-targeting, auto navigation, and can be a case of just observing closely and only intervening if you need to escape.

I can't remember how much I paid for the game - I suspect it was in a bundle some years ago. I'm not sure the current price tag (£7.18 in the U.K) is worth it, but it's a hard call. It's given me around 8 hours of fun before I decided to move on to other games.

So there you go. If it's been in your Steam library for a while and you haven't got around to playing it, give it a whirl. You are likely to get some fun out of it.

Ah yes, the wonderful Space Ace. Look, you either love these laser disc games or you don't. They are what they are - a memory and agility test. You push up, down, left, right or fire in accordance with the on screen prompt (a flash) and if your timing is right, the cartoon progresses. Simple as that.

For me, I associate this game with the summer of 1985, when me and my mates, all around the 14 or 15 year old mark, would get the train to Barry Island on the coast of Wales on a Saturday morning and just spend hours in the wonderful arcades they had there at the time. Games like Space Ace, Dragon's Lair, Out Run, Space Harrier, Double Dragon and others will always be cherished and have a special place in my heart.

Well, I'd say this is definitely one of the better idle games. It doesn't get bogged down in layers of complexity in the later stages as some idle games do. It's simple, clean fun with some simple, clean graphics. Give it a go - why not, it's free. I spent 99p in-game on something - can't remember if it was a chest deal or gem deal or whatever - but that was just a whim. You certainly don't need to. Progess at your own leisurely pace if you want :-)

I'm not sure if I can add anything new when it comes to reviewing this game. If you know, you know! If you don't, buy it and become engrossed in one of the best of the point and click adventures of its time.

I owned the original floppy disk version (my PC at the time didn't have one of the new fancy CD-Rom drives that were just coming out, so I never got to hear the voices until I bought this Steam version) back in 1993 or so. I already owned Indiana Jones And The Fate Of Atlantis so I knew the sort of game to expect, and I wasn't disappointed. I never got around to completing it back in 1993, but, some thirty years later, finally did! With, er, the help of a hint book... :-)

This is basically their game Geo with more polished graphics. Is it a cash grab? Well for me, no, as I am a sucker for this type of mining/grinding game. In fact, I bought this game first and, a couple of years later, realised that I owned the 'prequel' Geo and just had not got around to playing it! Anyway, as far as Galactic Mining Corp goes, I give it a big thumbs up. It took me 43.6 hours to get all the achievements and for me, it has no replay-ability factor, but a tenner for that amount of game time is a very good deal by my reckoning!

10/10

I started with Magic The Gathering around 2015, buying my first few sets of cards, just on a collecting basis. When Magic: Arena was launched in 2017 I installed it and began having a blast. It hasn't changed a huge amount in the 7 years I have been playing Arena - it's mainly the fact that different modes, such as 'historical' etc, have been added. I find this digital version convenient. I am a shift worker so organising physical games or working my schedule in a way I can visit the local games cafe to fit in a game or two, is very tricky. Playing a few online games this way, via Arena, suits me perfectly.

I don't quite understand the criticisms about the transactions. Maybe twice a year or so I may spend £20 on a gem pack to use as I wish, but it's certainly not compulsory. In fact, although I have built up huge collections of the Lord Of The Rings card set and many other sets, simply from winning packs in-game, I quite often use packs I started playing with five years ago! I am quite fond of the 'Mutation' set for example, and have had lots of success with that free pack!

So yeah, I would recommend Magic : Arena. It's free and fun and the most I have ever had to wait for an online match (i'm in the UK) is about a minute. I'm normally matched in 30 seconds or so.

I give Arena 10/10

Well, it's come a long way since I first started messing around with a demo of it back in 2015 or so! It's great fun. Don't focus on the environmental graphics - they won't 'wow' you like Forza 4 or 5 - they are decent enough and do the job adequately. The joy of this game is in the physics. There are now a very large selection of vehicles, from three wheelers to trucks, and the odd racing car thrown in for good measure. These vehicles you can crash together just like you did with your Matchbox or Dinky cars when you were ten years old! You can alter the gravity, which creates no end of fun, and you can pile up cars on top of each other and drop another car on them, just to experience that satisfying 'crunch' sound.

I mean, if this isn't what life is for then what is ?

It reminds me of when I failed my driving test by taking my Robin Reliant up to 140mph and trying to squeeze it through the gap between a roundabout and a sweet shop in 1987.

Great game. Super chilled if you like flying and then suddenly turning into bone soup.
