I originally picked this up as it was suggested by Steam as "Similar to Darkest Dungeon and Battle Brothers". Maybe it's to blame for why this was an utter miss for me. A couple hours in and I could feel the grind. Nothing stood out as particularly interesting or exciting and it feels incredibly repetitive and the speed of advancement is slow.

The monster selection *seems* interesting but ultimately a few games in and I stopped bothering with which monsters were on which teams or their placements. The heroes will repeatedly kill your monsters generally within a round or two regardless of positioning. The couple times I stumbled across interesting combos I could rarely capitalize on them due to such short life spans. No sense in getting attached to them when they poof so easily.

It's not a bad game in the traditional sense but it feels like you could buy it on mobile for < $5. Other games fill the same space like Monster Train or DungeonMaker (on mobile). Both offer more player agency and more interesting interactions. This might be the first time in all my steam library the review scores are so vastly different than my own experience. I mean, I'm pretty sure this was the game I played and refunded.
