Guns and Spandex, what more do you want ?

In its current state it's a complete mess and visual downgrade from Horizons.

Eve Online can go die in a fire.

If you enjoy getting steamrolled by players who simply have more ingame money or RL money than you, then this game is for you. Pay2Win bads will simply love this game, lately especially with abyssal modules. Use cash to turn your ship into a solo killing machine for no effort other than your blinking wallet. GG on CCP for driving this once great and fairly balanced game into the dirt.

EDIT a year later, after definitely retiring from the game, after 13 years of service:

I reiterate on my previous review, Eve is a pay2win game if you want to have a somewhat meaningful yet short-term experience with it. It's being made even more so now with all the "fast-track / fast-food" changes to access content that previously took several months of planning, learning and interacting to get to.

It all started with CCP Seagull and her Skill Injectors concept, ie: build a tailored or fully maxed char in day one if you want and have the means to ...

It was all downhill from this point, more hand-holding, more pay2win, more instant arenas, more of everyone and their grandma using alts to gain an easy self-sufficient edge in almost every interactions, more and more sociopathic behaviour, less and less meaningful interactions, and all despite the game being, an MMO ...

Now the game is just a cesspool of bored (albeit: ageing) endgame griefers and a spoonfull of disgruntled and fast-leaving newbros, since the fast-tracking towards Eve Boredom was the final and most efficient nail into the game's coffin.

Interesting gameplay and meaningful longterm interaction is literally non-existent and now actively discouraged by CCP, throughout their core changes to the game over the years.

Do not waste your time into this mess, as it is far far beyond any point of return.

I long to see it go down in history as one of the most ambitious video game in history, but became soiled by its own premise, ie: vanity, greed, and misled ambitions.

Great game with a hell of a lot of potential ahead of it. I hope the devs make the right and tough decisions, as they have done so far ! Keep it up ! Thank you.
