This game is best played with a party of friends. So if you have no friends I would avoid. if you do have friends then read on.

The aim of the game for the "runners" is to reach the destination by hitting check points on your way to the goal. The aim of the "shooter" is to stop them with various weapons depending on the stage. Ammo is replenished by successfully hitting the runners. It is a pretty simple idea with mixed results. if the shooter is not that good the runners have a good chance, if they are good however the dodges at the disposal of the runners aren't up to much.

The number of levels is quite low. The music is also pretty much stolen from other games (see videos for more on this). We had fun playing this game and it easily justified it's price (on sale or in bundles). The Steam price seems a bit high for a game like this. Should be a bit lower as standard.

I will recommend this, as it is worth it as a party game(assuming you pick it up for a couple of pounds or so.). It does however, have some glaring faults and is far from perfect.

The music needs to be more unique. The dodges need to be better or the knock back on certain weapons needs to be nerfed and so on. Hitting your friends with the weapons does give a sadistic glee and betraying other runners gives that same devilish grin. So there is plenty of fun to be had.

This is a great little game and you can pass it off as educational. You play as Grimm (female version an option) and fight monsters through an ever expanding map. There are boss fights thrown in to keep things interesting. You "fight" by spelling out words from a selection of letters. It is a bit like scrabble. The longer the word the better. Words also have ranks, gold, bronze, silver. Letters like J, Q and Z being gold as they are often difficult to fit in words. Bosses and special enemies are given criteria for damage. For example "Use words starting with vowels.". There is also a "hangman" type of mini game in some levels.

The word grid has a variety of looks and tiles can be effected with poison, spikes, stone, etc. all having a multitude of effects and how they can be used or not used as the case may be. Power-ups, cosmetic items, potions all add to the games longevity and charm.

The main characters are well done, as are the monsters and bosses they fight. Each stage has 5 different goals, the first being complete the stage, second complete against the clock and so on. This makes the game a challenge and adds the replay or continuous play often missing from this kind of game.

The core mechanics are very well designed. The game recognises most words but not all (not sure what dictionary they are using). It is definitely beneficial to have a good vocabulary and being able to spell is also a plus.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable game for all the family and I highly recommend it to all.

This is a "tetris style" game where the blocks fall in different colours. After a few blocks you will get a block that gives you a choice of making that block a gem that will break all the blocks of that colour that are touching. Sounds simple enough and it is and often a simple concept makes for an addictive compelling game (like Tetris/bean machine, puyo pop, etc.).

The game has a zodiac theme and a small star mascot that narrates the story and shows you the game mechanics. personally I found the star and the sound it makes annoying as all hell. The "story" is forgettable and the enemies being star constellations isn't very engaging. There are no power-ups with the exception of a "break all blocks of that colour" warp gem.

There is some fun to be had here if you really like this sort of game, which I do but this was just not fun or engaging. It seemed like luck if you got the opportunity to change a block into a gem and the game often just didn't give you the gem you needed on higher difficulties. This wasn't because you didn't place blocks right it was just you are never given the chance to break them. Which made losing feel like you were cheated rather than beaten.

Also every time you play you start from scratch. There is no save and as far as I can tell you beat the 12 zodiac signs then go around again at higher difficulty, then again, then again until the game cheats you to death.

I am not sure how they could fix this game, the main problem is with the mechanic which is the game itself. There are plenty of falling block games out there and most are better than this one. I cannot recommend I am afraid. And someone needs to kill that star (or shoot the mascot designer. Looks like one of those Milky way chocolate stars. Must have taken all of 5 seconds to draw/design. Very poor indeed).

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is an action-adventure game set in the world of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. The game follows the story of Talion, a ranger who is resurrected by a spirit and seeks revenge against the dark lord Sauron and his minions for the death of his family. Think Assassins Creed in a fantasy setting.

This is an amazing game. For me it took the "Arkham/counter" fight mechanic to a new level. Added stealth kills, ranged combat and mounts. One of the standout features of Shadow of Mordor is the "Nemesis System," which procedurally generates unique enemies for the player to face. Each enemy has its own personality, strengths, and weaknesses, and the player's interactions with them can shape the game's story and world in meaningful ways. The only sure fire way to kill a chieftain and have them stay dead is to behead them. Chop of a limb, stab an eye and they will be back, bandaged and royally p'ed off. I love this aspect of the game.

Shadow of Mordor boasts impressive graphics and a detailed open world, which players can explore as they progress through the story. The game's combat system is smooth and satisfying, with a variety of weapons and abilities at the player's disposal.

For the Tolkien purists I'm sure there's plenty to dislike but for those who simply dabble in the lore there is plenty to love. There are collectables and the like but they aren't intrusive (like the far cry games). The story isn't that great to be honest and is easily made to play on the background as you weave your own tale by defeating enemies and unlocking new skills.

You choose your play-style, all "swords/bows" blazing is an option or stealth dagger in the darkness play is also available for wannabe "ninjas". I return to this game again and again and have played across systems. You can pick the GOTY edition up for a "handful of beans" if you know where to look.

Overall, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is a well-crafted action-adventure game that offers an engaging story, satisfying combat, and a unique nemesis system. It's a must-play for fans of the Lord of the Rings series and action-adventure games in general.

I own this game across systems. One of the best and easiest to access tower defence games out there. You have a varied assortment of plants at your disposal. The level progression is just right and you never feel pressured in to using one tactic only as levels can be completed in a multitude of ways.

If you are looking for an easy to access tower defence game or interested in this genre but have been put off by the complicated mechanics of other games this is the game for you.

I love the humour and the completion reward will stick in your head for days.

There are a number of mini games to change things up. It is a shame the sequel went to the phone.

10/10 would throw cabbages at the undead again.

This is up there as one of my favourite games from Telltale. If you have read the comics this stays true to them but throws some curve balls to keep things fresh. the story is well told and waiting for the next episode must have been painful if you purchased this before the season was over.

You star as Bigby Wolf. A detective and "police" of sorts for the fairy tale creatures that inhabit the mundane world due to tyranny taking place in their own. Rather than concentrate on that story the series follows a twisting tale of a serial killer. Suffice to say this theme lends itself to mature themes and content. This is not one for the kids, folks. There is nudity and depending on your choices some pretty violent scenes.

Without spoiling much you will get to explore Bigby's character and they did a good job of including his abilities and all round being a badass, while at the same time keeping you on your toes. I really liked the ending and would love a second season. I recommend this to fans of the comics, lovers of fairy tales and those wanting to see a different slant put on the Fairytale characters from their childhoods.

Last but not least Bloody Mary and your interaction with her is a standout of the series and memorable like Clemintine's final moments with Lee.

10/10 Would punch Georgie Porgie again.

Avalanche is a really fun casual game with that addictive "one more go" flavour. The aim is simply to get your little "marshmellow" ever higher. You do this by scaling "wall" jumping, jet-packing, etc. off of falling blocks. After every step climb you will face a "boss". Enemies are vanquished by jumping on their heads as are the bosses. Snakes, birds, dragons, octopuss(what is the plural of octopuss? Octopie? Octo♥♥♥♥♥s? OO ) block your path. The rising lava from below pushes you ever upwards least you be burnt alive.

You also get a large number of power-ups, open new power-up slots to carry more than one ability and gather coins to spend on bonuses, challenges, and cosmetic items. These add to the replay value.

This is ultimately a casual game but proves addictive and gives a real sense of achievement the higher you get. The bragging rights of a high score or a pimped out "marshmellow" are where it is at.

I recommend this if you are looking for an addictive quick blast of fun that you can play between bouts of more intensive gaming. This is also a game that the whole family can play and challenge one another for the highest score.

Last but not least I love the sound the rising lava makes.

Mushroom wars is an excellent game. So good I actually own it across systems. The aim is quiet simply to dominate the opposing team or teams. You do this by taking strategic positions on the map and ultimately by sheer weight of numbers. The design of the map leads to new and more inventive strategies. The difficulty ramps up sometimes considerably so and the enemy AI definitely cheats. This however, makes beating them all the more satisfying.

Multiplayer both online and local provides added fun. There are also varied game modes to play and explore different play styles. Different buildings and choosing which to create towers, barracks, etc. allow for new strategies and to keep your opponent guessing. The simple gameplay really opens up and lends itself to crafty plans once you get the hang of the game mechanics.

The graphics are great and I really enjoy the art style. I am really looking forward to Mushroom wars 2 and can definitely give the original a thumbs up.

10/10 would do Mushrooms again.

The original L4D improved on with L4D2 but still a classic in it's own right. A great place to start if new to the co-op shooter genre. the characters are well written the voice acting is awesome and the maps are intricate and damn near perfect. I have nothing but fond memories of this game and would highly recommend it.

It only gets better if you have friends playing. The mod support is also great so you can get it looking just the way you like it.

After playing hearing someone shout "Tank" will never be the same.

Highly recommended.

This is a point and click adventure about Roaches. The name probably gave that away. It is a fun little game, a little on the short side. The humour is great, although it ventures into the slightly lewd at times, The fun characters and puzzles are accompanied by the undertone of the world having gone through nuclear holocaust. Nothing beats Nuclear Holocaust in giving a game a dark tone. That said the game still manages to be relatively jovial and light-hearted.

The story follows two friends trying to make it in a world now ruled by militant ants. With the help of a few friends along the way they battle against the military might of ants. I thoroughly enjoyed this game. Again it was a bit short but the puzzles were varied and interesting. The characters are conveyed through their interactions as no dialogue is used. Speech/thought bubbles are used throughout to help characterize and indicate what you need to do to progress. It is really well done. The graphics and art style fit the game. Also the sounds are excellent, there is no voice acting as such but you get a real feel for the characters from the sounds, screams, etc. that they do make. The"cut scenes" come in the form of animated "comic panels" another style choice of which I approve.

If you are a fan of this kind of game I would pick this up.
