Words fail me when I try to explain how much fun I've had with this game, and it gets worse when I try to talk about all the fun I'm still going to have. This is a great roguelike AND a great turn-based dungeon crawler. The permadeath is on by default, but you don't have to play that way, and the lower difficulty is rather forgiving.

It has some things that really annoys me, first and foremost the lack of transparency in many places. But that's nothing that a few seconds of search on the great wiki won't fix (not to mention that it's less of an issue when you aren't obsessed with min/maxing the way I am).

Overall the many qualities completely overshadow the few problems. Really good aesthetics and tone of the game make this possibly the most appealing roguelike I have ever played. The way class/skills interact makes for a a huge depth of strategy and builds to explore while being amazingly well balanced for such a complex system. The system looks weird and hapazard at first, but once you get used to it you realize that there is a framework of simple concepts underlying it all; and once you see that, it's very easy to grasp how various things interact and how new things will work. That makes for an exceptionally experience in mastering the game and getting to know how it works.

The great community and all the love the developpers poured into it (obvious from the large and completely free DLC that's available) seal the deal, making it one of the best games I have ever played.

If you like deep game that you can play easily after an hour of getting familliar with it but that's deep enough that you are still improving after a couple hundred hours into it, then look no further.
