Game is very pretty and runs well on my system. I play a a variety of Grand Strategy / Wargames, but Paradox and I don't exactly agree on things.

I'm not going to trash the product. Many people enjoy it. I'm just not one of them. Had far too many moments of feeling like I'm just throwing my divisions against brick walls for seven years for no payout. It's a great way to spend four or five hours planning your big offensive. But I always found myself rage quitting after a decade of no progress.

I always avoided the multiplayer community, because the videos I see of it from YouTube make it seem extremely toxic. Even commenting on YouTube videos asking questions is met by an overwhelming amount of toxicity.

Don't let my review stop you from buying the game. But maybe don't drop a hundred bucks on all the DLCs until you've played a couple games and know what you're getting yourself into.

I have 6000 hours in this game and regret none of them. The ultimate sandbox experience. I didn't know what it was when I bought it. I just knew about the flight simulator. Hell, I played the thing with an X-box controller for my first 30 hours. Little did I know. This game has the steepest learning curve ever and it's so satisfying when things start to click. Then you're putting your aircraft on a rooftop, taking out an HVT at 2000m, or setting up an ambush to steal supplies from a convoy. This is my favorite game and would recommend it to anyone. Bohemia gave us a good base, and the mods bring it home. This game can be anything. There's pirates, dinosaurs, fighter jets, and aliens. You can do missions ranging in silliness from Defending Trumps Wall to an actual recreation of the Omaha Beach landing or Black Hawk Down. If you like to have fun doing whatever you want to do. Arma is for you.
