I paid $50 for the base game as a Fig Backer in 2019.

The overall rating for this game seems about right. It does look like a homeworld game, but alot of the details are gone.

You have an auto resource button but don't have an auto salvage. Every ship module is an upgrade and has no visual indicator on the ship itself. There is a ship cap but no ability to retire ships you don't need anymore. There's no attack move in the modern control scheme. The cinematic cutscenes look terrible for 2024.

It doesn't have the details I loved In HW2. I'm really in it for the mods but I fear the base game doesn't have bones to support the mods I enjoyed from HW2. Hope I'm wrong.

Overall it's still a 6-7/10 game.

Just doing my part, SONY is the reason for these negative reviews.

5/6/24: looks like Sony likes money and decided against force linking to PSN. Now more people can buy and play this game.
