This is a criminally overlooked and underrated gem. The game is essentially a modern update of the Sega Genesis game Herzog Zwei. But if you've played any of the following games, then you'll be familiar with the kind of gameplay in store: Future Cop LAPD (PS1), Freedom Fighters (PS2), Glory Days (Nintendo DS), and Toy Soldiers (XBLA).

You take direct control of one "hero" unit whilst requisitioning NPC units at will. The units adhere to basic commands like "attack" and "stop" but cannot be individually micromanaged as in a traditional RTS.

All the while, "creep" minions pour from your and the enemy base. Your minions (infantry) take over outposts after taking up garrison within them.

AirMech is an immense amount of fun. Highly recommended if you enjoy tactical multiplayer action.
