I can understand some of the negative posts regarding the requirement to have a connection to Ubisoft, but in all honesty, for me anyway, this happens behind the scenes and doesn't impact the game at all.

In terms of the actual game, then in my opinion it is very good. Sure the requirement to buy more and more DLC is always annoying, but strip the game back to it's core, plus one or two additions and it's very enjoyable.

I'm halfway through the campaign and am basing my assessment on the campaign only. Nice balance of challenge/progression and a nice story.

So far I believe the game is worth it's money just based on this. Anything extra would be a bonus.

A very very good survival game. Play it on hard for the best experience.

The short version is that if you enjoy building/crafting games then this is worth a look. If you are also attracted to the historical aspect then it's definitely worth playing.

I would rate it at 3.5/5.

The game has 3 issues in my opinion.

1. Once the main storyline ends, you are essentially creating your own goals e.g. making the settlement self manage, researching x or y. Minor quests continue but soon become very repetitive, and towards the end of the game the rewards aren't worth the effort.

2. Early on in the game you are using the full day to cram in as much as possible. Towards the end you are waiting on the next day to arrive (without a speed up time option as far as I'm aware). There never seemed to be a happy medium.

3. I say "end game" because that's how it felt. However, I stopped playing with plenty of unlocked knowledge. The issue was that there is no incentive to unlock them, and as mentioned above, it's a pain to have to wait for the day to end.

A good game and fun while it lasted, but I get the feeling that it could have been so much better.

Very bad.

Don't be fooled by the hype. Continuously dying and respawning is dull.

The rubbish gfx do nothing to redeem it.

1/10 for me.

Outstanding.
