What a great game.

This game is a childhood fantasy of a lot of us who grew up with certain movies.
Playing in the backyard, building forts, fighting monsters. Its amazing. Its also systemicly one of the greatest survival and building games ive ever played. I have quite a few survival or sandbox games.
Best of the best right here.
The building system is very effective and fun to use, the resource management is easy and intuitive. The exploration is amazing. The bugs are scary, the combat is smooth and fast. What else can i say? Its great and its not done!

1.0, October 2022:

Still the best survival game. In the last year ive seen a few posts from people asking if this game is appropriate for adults. Some people are mistaken in thinking they might be playing with random children and they want to avoid that.
Most think the games '90s cartoon' look means its childish, but its actually the exact opposite. Its made for 90s kids, who are now adults. Its also similar to some of those shows in the deceptively dark undertones, topics, and side notes that punctuate the dungeons.
There is a lot of really messed up stuff that ranges from kidnapping to murder.

The systems of the game are now refined to a masterpiece. Progress is made through several ways, and all of them contribute greatly to your success. Any time one form of progress might seem roadblocked, there are other ways to move ahead. Many ways of getting stronger are hidden cleverly, and some maybe too cleverly (i dont know what i havent found), but the main means of progression is always clear, and the path forward in the story is always clear to you. You will always know exactly where you need to go and why. Figuring out how to do it successfully is up to you.

Gear sets and weapons have been changed at least 3 times with major overhauls and have finally settled into a nice balanced system where each set is tiered, and all gear in a tier has the same base defense. Each set has unique bonuses that stack per piece, and then add a second bonus for full set. Upgrading can keep lowly gear sets relevant into late game, so picking your set to accommodate your need, or play style is easy, and recommended. Weapons from early game can even be made more lethal by adding a culinary element to them later to keep them effective forever.

For a game that comes in at 8 gigs, the sound is great and the lighting is stunning. The controls are very tight and responsive. Combat is VERY responsive and well paced. Not monster hunter slow, not conan laggy, and not street fighter fast. Timed blocks are easy enough to pull off, monster telegraphs are simple and easy to learn over time. Any bug can be squished with skillful play, and so far, any bug can be overcome eventually through brute force progression. On a low end system, the framerate is amazing, no loading, no pausing, no crashes, one or two visiual bugs at sunset, but so far nothing game breaking.

I havent even explored the top half of the yard. I better get back to it, there so much to do before i can even think of going up there.
