The Good:
-It is the best and most balanced Kings Bounty of all.
-Valkeries and rage powers are fairly balanced and all of them are useful (no more useless mystic egg or dragon wall forcing the player to spam dragon dive).
-No more island hopping because of overtuned mobs.

The bad:
-Grindy asf
-Poor unity variety
-Annoying enemy heroes
-You don`t feel any stronger with level ups.
-Mage is still the weakest choice unless you go out of your way to cheese with trolls and what not.

The Ugly:
-Still the same BS gameplay of running around and fleeing from overtuned mobs
-Itemization is still bad specially scrolls.
-Bosses still exists.
-Living Items still exist so good luck supressing them because the game said so.
-Gremlin towers still exists for that matter ( who had the brilliant idea of placing them in KB should be fired from the industry).
>Geyser still exists.

All in all this is the grindiest but fairest of all KB games and tbf it is the best, still the series is an exercesise in frustation and should be avoided at all costs ( none of the this series games become better as you play and level up).

One of the worst RTS games I`ve ever had the misfortune of playing.
Broken, bugged, filled to the brim with BS from devs favourites factions (eldar, tau and necrons), pathetic excuse for a campaing, worse modding scene that only cares about putting more crap in making the already broken balance even worse or adding downright laughable new factions.
Better to get aids than play this crap.

(This review focuses on Tank Battles as it is my preferred game mode)
I`ve first played Warthunder in 1.37 with airplanes, as I was waiting for tanks as I got sick of WoT.

When first presented the ground forces mode was fun in AB, RB or simulation, although a tad limited as at the times only USSR and German tanks were avaiable while also gaining less RP and SL, still it was an enjoyable experience and I had hope that tanks would only improve from then on. The maps were rather poor at the time with emphasis on close quarters combat.

Germans at the time were slower and slightly less armoured when compared to the soviets but had much better cannons, with better penetration, precision and depression.

Yet as time passed by GF only got worse this way:
- first they limited AB respawn to 3 tanks per player, even though beforehand one could bring as many tanks as possible (it was a for fun mode afterall), afterwards added on demand aircraft with no cost for players, which meant that all tanks were vulnerable to bombing runs and the allied NPC AA that had existed since closed beta was removed in a subsequente update therefore forcing players to use AA to try and bring down planes.
-In another update they revamped the damage models which in turn made tanks spongey as modules could absorb all the shrapnels of an explosion.
-Another update revamped the penetration system which gave RNG bounce chances to sloped armour that inheritly made the USSR tanks better than german ones.
-One had to buy repair kits and FPE although at the time that was unimportant.

After that I gave a little pause and returned when both US and UK had been implemented, but it did not improve:
-RP and SL gain were still abysmal.
-US and UK suffered greatly since their ammo lacked HE filling and had higher chances of being deflected by sloped surfaces.
-There were hardly any players in GF for this bots were everywhere.
-The MM and BR rating screwed any semblance of balance as a vehicle is balanced equal to how good players use them rather than how good objectely the vehicle is(yeah pretty dumb).
-Hardly any maps had been added in the meantime and those that were still poor.
-Post war tanks were being placed against wwII tanks.
-They modified the daily 2x bonus as a lootbox worsening the gains.
-For instance from 1.000.000 SL gained from air battles, by the time I got my Tiger, I had at best 200.000 SL.
-At the time, WT GF had become pay to play.

Now in 2020 the game is a waste of time, following my experience in a new account:
-RP and SL are impossible to get by as free player and even premium accounts suffer with it.
-GE necessary for a week of premium account is equivalent to R$40,00 in brazillian currency.
-Gaijin only cares about selling premium vehicles., many that are far superior than line tanks for an exorbitant amount of money, essentialy becoming Pay to Win.
-Bots are eveywhere.
-You still have to buy parts and FPE so Gaijin may get more cash.
-matchmaking pits 100 levelled players against 1 leveled player.
-Most new tanks are copypastes with italian, japanese and chinese shermans as an example.
-German had their tanks among them the beloved Maus removed for dubious reasons.
-The new trees I played, japanese and italians, are incredibly weak when compared to USSR and Germans.
-Penetration system has been made worse and the post-pen effects are still unrealible.
-Planes and now helis have completely screwed up the balance.
-The maps are at their worst filled with 1 CP point grinders or 3 CP that are far too close to one another and spawnkilling has become rampart (if you want to win you must do it).
-Apart from horrible horde mode with aimbot NPC, no new mode has been added.
-Piss poor events and daily bonuses that are more trouble than they are worth it.
-Gaijin is openly hostile to the community, striking down videos and mocking players (yes a free abrahams tank is the same as wanting to repair your tank and put out fire), it is so bad that Reddit, an echo chamber of yes man is filled with complaints that are upvoted.

I counsel new players to avoid this game like the plague, it is currently inferior to WoT and as we are in 2020, the game has steadily gone the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with no hopes of ever improving.

will not recomend, I've played have been playing since closed beta and the fundamental flaws since them have not changed at all starting with:

-Far too much RNG and the bad kind, loot has no minimum suffix value so getting a decent rare later on will be near impossible by yourself
-Idolatry of the economy, POE has become centered around trading, resulting in every loot mechanic existing to make it "healthy", even though the the drops are horrible ( you could add 50% to both quantity and rarity and see very little change).
-No currency, you'll just barter in a game with no prices with orbs with unknown values, you'll feel like being in a socialist economy.
-The balance became worse after the second half of act 3, mobs gained a bunch of annoying skills and starting to become tanks, even trash ones.
-Defenses are useless, right now life builds, armor and evasion are garbage since they'll lead to oneshots all the time.
-Speaking of which, there is not middle-ground in dificulty, you'll either be crushed or crush, one shots are far too common for after act 3 normal.
-Meele is useless, slow clearing speed and gets hurt even more thanks to weak defenses.
-Most skill gems are useless and only a few work well, mainly AOE ranged ones.
-The passive skill tree is good until level 30, after that it becomes far too slow to advance a level for just one passive point that adds a small stat boost.
-Speed is key which makes me wonder why movement skills have crap pathfinding and will desynch the game if there too many mobs, also base move speed is snail pace, they could add 20% bonus and take way quicksilver flask and the game would feel more fluid.
-Labyrinth, adding a plataform to a ARPG is already an insult to the genre, forcing to complete to remain competetive is even more.
-The community, GGG is surrounded by boot lickers who praise every decision of this company and will even defend some of the flaws mentioned here as being "hardcore" which is the code word for no-lifers trying to justify such shody work and they'll attack other games of the genre mainly diablo 3, which was bad for other reasons mainly plot and art, as a means to cope with the state of the game.

There might be other reasons not to play, but rest assured, I've had faith in GGG since this is a truly free to play game, but I had it since 2012 that they would improve the game, but with every update the game hardly changed, with actual fear of the devs to solve them ( for instance giving better loot would kill their precious economy), as it stands, POE has become stagnant and while it will last a 5 years since they plan to add 5 more acts, it won't be the experience it should be, the supposed new diablo 2.

(Edit)

Just came back to the new "melee rework" and a few more things to talk about:

-The game now starts and runs poorly with constant freezing and disconnecting, not helped by the fact I need 5 minutes to just enter the server after failing to join instances 2 consecutive times.
-Build diversity is long dead and all that matters is the meta thanks to the constant power creeping and horrid balance ethics (Seriously look at what they did to molten strike).
-Yellow and uniques have now been buffed to be more of damage sponges meaning only the meta can stand to them.
-Melee rework was a scam since all they did was add some bonus damage to melee skill gems and a small AOE splash to them after they took something like 30% base attack speed.
-The new targetting system has resulted in broken skills, namely blade flurry.
-The game is now Path of Speed Meta and One Shots, be ready to have your screen cluttered with terrible particle effects.
-The game is bloated and perfomance stinks.
-Defenses are still pointless point sinks unless you stack absurd amounts of it except they have been nerfed, for instance ES is constantly being gutted, Evasion was reworked to be even less effective than before and Armour must now tank an ever growing increase in phisical damage that accompanies the power creep.
-The new league content are mostly a timesink apart from Delve that offers an interesting and rewarding experience, with betrayal the biggest joke of them all, overpowered bosses that were once part of the masters (seriously why not add new characters, why the hell are they working against you?) and had their item crafting gated behind layers of RNG.
-Though late to the party, act v to act x makes no sense at all and betrays the spirit of the game, you are now a god killing other gods and following a god just because, makes no sense and it is clearly rushed and no different than the Nephilim non sense from Diablo III.

All in all, GGG has done a terrific job in not fixing anything at all.

(Edit)

And after all this time have we gotten a rework of trash skills, revamping of defenses and less garbage loot?NO! Only nerf after nerfs because Chris Wilson is dimmed by his "vision"

(Edit)

So apparently Chris`s vision is to make yellow mobs stronger than the bosses...

Early Access Review
Horrible game all around, slow updates that only make it worse with stupid resistances that destroyed certain perks like the firebug and support, lack of content in maps with every oficial one being dark as ♥♥♥♥, foggy and clustered making a pain to navigate. Add the unbalanced zeds that receive huge hp and speed bonuses becoming bullet sponges at higer dificulties, the bad aiming system where scoring headshots is a pain in the ass ( it is easier to do so in RO2, a realistic game mind you), zeds that teleport taking away kiting, welding doors and any sort of tactic away forcing the players to camp the same spots in the same maps everytime, bad weapon system making off perk choices not competitive with the new money nerf ( after all instead of adding new weapons, equipment and accessories to buy in the waves why not just nerf it all!) and so many other stupid decisions that turn every match in an exercise of frustation.

Not even mods save this game, no matter what, the AI will still cheat while being brain dead, the engine will still suck making units sticky and forcing annoying battle animations , the combat will either be lighting fast in vanilla with needless special abilities or painfully slow with certain mods, the empire building will still remain limited no matter what while also requiring one to tech aswell plus the cherry on top is the political farse where you'll get screwed over by civil war.

Steam needs to add a mixed rating, this game is not bad but it suffers from the typical eastern unbalanced difficulty that you see in other games ( MoW comes to mind with its campaing). For instance the game is random, items change position and types per playthrough making some playthroughs moot when you get a bad combination of enemies, creatures you can hire and items.

Another point the power between the classes can be seen from a mile away, mages suck as they lack leadership and attack and defence, resulting in small and weak armies while warriors eat everything for breakfast, even the stupid restriction of not being able to use the pet against the boss is small when you have huge armies that stike harder and take less damage ( plus a few buff from spells). The paladin as a hybrid is meh, you have more freedom with magic but still plays like a warrior. Some say that mages become powerhouses with certain spells, but first you need skills to be able to have enough mana and also the luck to find scrolls( again the random items screwing you over).

The enemies will almost always outnumber you and they are diverse when it makes no sense, you have undead walking around with humans which in your case results in severe handicap while for the PC it means nothing. In order to with the ever growing number of enemies, the pet comes into play, but it lacks AOE to be any use early on, relying on its single damage move. This game unlike Legends shows that you won't win unless you spend points into rage.

The difference in enemy power in each land is ridiculous even at easy difficulty, you are more than forced to clean every one before procceding, not helped by the lack of enemies meaning you'll never be high level enough, this makes the player try to kite enemies around the map.

Kiting was also changed, groups will follow you from greater distance than Legends being proportional to the enemy might, while also being faster coupled with the new map unlock system, in which you must get a chart to procced to a next island, further adds to the frustation.

Still this game is worth for one playthrough with the best chars, but don't expect to have the same well built world and adventure of Legends, in fact they thought that merely adding enemies that are OP would be okay. Warriors of the North for all the unbearable grind it has, might be the appex of King's Bounty , it has balance, a good progression meaning you'll become a powerhouse in no time, great skill tree, interesting world with enemies that predictable. Even the Crossworld expansion added little to band aid the problems of AP.
