It'll be a struggle to get it down to .50/hr even having only bought at like I think it was 10$... The community will disgust you as much as the server quality does. Don't even buy it on sale.

I wouldn't buy this one. But it's overall not bad.

-Imported toxic multiplayer community from previous title
-crashes and lag at large unit counts and complex attack plans
-bad AI limits offline replayability
-Missing basic features such as kick player tagged as Cheater from multiplayer lobby
-Easily abusable mechanics in player votes, makes multiplayer unplayable (Often you'll find prearranged teams come in and ally up at the start giving instant tech to each other as they go, they will then proceed to vote world peace, ban techs, etc, if the odds fall out of their favour.. With 3 and some AI you control the game via voting)

Nearly double the play time in now. I've tried both sides, met good and bad people and had a lot of fantastic moments in the game. As pathologically as I'd like to like this title. No amount of good game can mitigate the damage of an unmoderated community in a competitive setting.

As a parent, it's become obvious I shouldn't allow my kids, whom I'd also purchased this title for, to continue playing. To be very clear, I'd let them do drugs. But not talk to this group of people. I just don't know what else to say or how else to describe this place and the people.

While some of the mechanics are a bit lack luster given the titles age and that there are bugs out in the world producing invisible walls. These are the only faults you'll find with the game itself(infantry only feels bad until you figure out the aim). Don't let my dislike of the community stop you if game and mechanics is all you're after. Because this title will eat your life. Even with the pain it was easy to bank nearly 200 hours.

While the below is extreme it stands. You're gonna find really good people in this community. There's Fish for example on the Wardens side. That's a solid community leader. But sadly, they're exceptions that prove the rule. I'd gone through some of the community fourms after my initial rough experiences last war. And found many of the complaints I'd never seen nor heard of; this seems to be regional. Depending on your hex and time zone you'll end up griefed in different ways. Be it the mass reporting of the base you built, being endlessly blocked by traffic using transit lanes as 15 minute refinery que parking lots, to people draining all your msup for base upkeep by surrounding your base with a full on fence; thus preventing access.

Each has their own style and flair for which to stop you enjoying the game. While I was trying to make a poilite hard out, release my faster pull private stock piles to the public on the Colonial side this time (This is where I found my last straw btw) I met quite a few people with horror stories. Each and every respondee to flag my BB for a hard out told me a tale of greif and harassment. Many were new like I having just come in from Wardens on the last war. So we had the same stories. A few from the collie side with different grievences. But all a common thread.

At some point in all of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, one of the harassers would note your rank, insist it did not matter you would not be here in two weeks time, before proceeding with parade.

I see why no one stays.

The community is an abhorant waste of skin, I'd gas these people, truly. I never really found my way to understanding Nazi Germany until I bought this game. You can hate the behaviour of people so intensely you want to wipe them from the face of Earth rather than exist on the same sphere. Regardless of if you need have any contact with them at all what so ever in your daily life. It's that bad and I'm stunned and taken aback. I've never seen such a thing outside of 4chans /b/.

I've wanted a refund since hour 9. It took that long to run through the various tutorials, choose a starter town, and finally meet my community. Sadly, this is well past steams 2hr window. If you do buy entirely skip tutorial Island and get right to it. Someone will yell at you shortly, you will see all kinds of instructional road sighs, and or you'll be shot to ♥♥♥♥ for not following some made up rule about land and resource ownership (Largely clans 'claiming' fields)

In a structural sense this is an amazing game with great mechanics, endless things to do, and a stunningly beautiful world. But it has a toxic community and dev's that don't care to address it.

If you feel at any point the game sucks, take a break and play something else for a hot minute. This ♥♥♥♥ keeps your blood pressure up so it can become tiring. This, this is not a bad thing. But burnout can be real. This is what I always wanted out of The Sims. Lol

This is a DLC mill, for a complete game you're going to have to buy pretty well all of them. Insanely expensive.
That aside it's a cool engine, only functional as a game really once modded however..

the game itself is great, the player base makes it not worth playing. Simple, sweet.

It's par/better than rimworld.

Welcome, to world war reeeeee. What a blessed ♥♥♥♥ show this apocalypse is. The game promises a I am legend / WWZ sandbox and delivers a complex yet simple colony builder where multiple factions are trying to control the map. I've been so busy watching this play out I've yet to bother to send out a single expedition! You can, in many ways effect how the raiders grow, arm and distribute around the map making them your go to PMC in the zombie apoc; don't forget to feed them rejects! Blood for the blood God! Skulls for the skull throne!

Do you want a LAV? You can totally have a LAV.

60 hours into zombies and faps I realized you can walking dead this ♥♥♥♥♥ with dozens of super smol colonies around a map making everything accessible all of the time. This nullifys most current map related complaints. The only thing that can't die in your houses and first HQ. (move your houses around to utalize pops in different parts of the map, the house needs to be moved in a way they can walk to that next outpost inside the day to populate the house or they will just go into HQ instead.

Be Aggressive, B-B-Aggressive, Be aggressive, B-B-Aggressive!
Clearing hordes and raiders will prolong the longevity of your maps, each time a horde or raider group enters a building, scouted or not, it will take some of the loot. Raiders over time will upgrade their weapons this way being able to find sniper rifles and assault rifles. (I've yet to seen shotguns) Items the player finds rarely, or not at all. Thus making them effective gun farms.

It's good, just buy it. I've done NOTHING else for three days straight now, if you'll excuse me I really, really, really need a shower. XD
