Pretty bad that the lobbies let you have 6 players but co-op and story are capped at 2. Played with a buddy and thought the game was better than expected but would be more fun with friends plural and since the lobby/party system had room for 6 thought for sure we could play the story that way. Luckily we found out in time for no more than 1 additional friend to purchase. Otherwise the game is fine but just fine in world of mountain of games isn't gonna cut it and I thought this had it by leading me to believe I could have up to 5 friends play. The standard with a lot of games anymore is 4 which is unfortunate because I often have 5 or more friends online, really thought this would hit the mark. 6 buddies rolling around in a van killing cultists with shovels instead we have a pretty standard co-op free roam experience and a no frills team deathmatch arcade mode.

I and my friends loved sanctum1 and for us, this game seemed like a no brainer purchase. Over a year later I come back to see if they fixed any of the grievances people had on launch and it looks like they haven't really done much since on day one, one of the devs was flaming people and telling them "Just go play Sanctum 1 then." This game isn't horrible, but compared to what it could have been it is just a big disappointment. The dev team fell victim to a common mistake in gaming where they get rid of old (good) features and add some new ones instead. IMO they could've had both. Whereas the first game could easily be given an 8/10 by me, this one sits at a 7/10. So why the negative? Because the developers made it clear on day one that they'd rather you go play Santcum 1 than spend your money on this second-rate sequel.
