I just played it for the first time. it's 6 hours later. WTF?

Addictive ., I have reached the pinnacle of dad gaming.

Conflicting recommendation. game is good , except the trials you are forced to do for ascendency points. game ? 9 out of 10 , trials ? 1 out of 10 , would not recommend .

the first two trials felt like it was a waste of my time and I was being forced to do something I didn't like at all and waste my time for something I needed to keep advancing my character.

the 3rd trials I got to the end , I thought ok 3rd one done.. but no points . just a door to go deeper . at this moment i realized it just keeps getting worse and more unfun so I just closed the game. I love this game , but that one thing just makes me not even want to play anymore. it's so bad and it feels so bad . I don't want to do trials 3 or 4 at all and that means i only have 4 of my 8 points. feels like i cannot finish my character without being miserable.

my character build is so strong i just delete cruel difficulty bosses and wipe the entire screen but even tho I have my character tuned to be fun and strong .. the idea of doing more trials which are built in a way that character strength doesn't really have much to do with the outcome . it is more tied to RNG , and a dumb honor bar.

I just don't enjoy it , the trials just aren't for me , and most people seem to dislike them even people that managed to finish all 4 . it's just one of the worst game designs I have seen in years and it is center and forced on players in what is besides that ... a masterpiece. the worst thing is you are going to put a lot of time into the game before you get to trials 3 and 4 and that feels bad too because if it is a deal breaker . you already invested a lot of time.

It's got me by the anomaly already ! 2 hours in , no problems yet .

expecting a proper season pass like other games that is easy to find and easy to navigate your unlocks in a linear fashion ? HAHA no . I'm not even sure what I got and it took me time to find the stuff to unlock it ... which also is a pain because it shares the currency that I need for other things . it is sort of a mess how they chose to do a season pass.

this is a model used all over the industry , it isn't complex or unfamiliar how to do this . but then again what would you expect from the team that thought ultrawide support was a post release feature update ......?

I appreciate cosmetics in this pack , I don't appreciate how badly it is put in the game.

Combat is complete garbage. The most hand holdy , simple , click parry when you see the big blue light , click dodge when you see the big red light.. single attack button mashing kid's arcade action.

I can accept that , simply because this is the best fan service for 40k . everything else is top notch . I just loved being in the grim dark of this game so much I could just put the simple , repetitive , please don't grab me quicktime monster no ! combat , out of my mind and enjoy the ride.

Best of this type. it's Diablo 1 meets vampire survivors . 10 out of 10 ,

This game makes watching paint dry look like an extreme sport . 2 missions in and I was bored to tears .
crouch . wait for enemies to clear out . move to extract picking up loot / repeat .

mostly negative ? steam reviews are so bad these days . gamers are truly full of crap. feels like a great foundation . reminds me of old school ghost recon back when it was fps game . but on a larger scale with tarkov style inventory .

the only thing that holds this game back from being something i would play a lot is that is has no online matchmaking so you cannot play with friends unless they are at your house.. this is 2024 .. that isn't how the world works anymore. The game leaves you feeling more like "what could have been" instead of what will be for the game. Which is sad because this could have been the Bushido Blade of modern times.
