This game is a masterpiece, deserving to sit alongside games like Suikoden 2, Digital Devil Saga, FF7 and the others that made me fall in love with JRPGs. In fact this is the only game I've played that I feel is equal to or possibly better than those classics. In my many years of playing the genre I've only found a small number that I feel come close to my old favorites. To find a game in 2016 that is this good, that I would actually place above Suikoden 2, a game that has been solidly my favorite since I first played it in 1998, just blows me away.

The story, while good, is probably not the rival of S2. Its the characters and their heartfelt, sincere interactions that push this game beyond anything I've played before. Characters grow and change over the course of the story, amazingly so if you consider where they started in the first chapter. And the love and craft Nihon Falcom put into this game shines at every turn. Especially in SC, some of the set piece fights are bar none the best choreographed sprite based animations I've ever seen. Every powerful scene in the game is beautifully realized in the animations.

This game is art, full of feels, and worth playing. Please support these guys, and XSEED for bringing it over here!
