My son and I just played a bunch of this game. The platforming puzzles are some of the best you will find. Very tricky, but also very satisfying. We both agree that the developer must be a bad person with darkness in their heart. (full disclosure, I know the developer and I have played versions of this game during its development)

This one is tricky! If you have played any of this Devs other games, this one is a fair bit tougher. Some jumps and obstacles require very precise timing. The good news is, the controls are also very precise. I played a bit with keyboard, Dpad, and thumbstick (yes I'm one of those sickos that plays pixel platformers with a thumbstick) and they all worked great.
fun, but be warned. it's not easy.

I've only played a bit, so I haven't gotten to all the deep automation stuff yet but the game is already a lot of fun.
The setting is really unique. Dark and moody but you can tell the game doesn't take itself too seriously. Some survival type games are just so bleak and it can be a struggle to stick with them. The vibe here is pretty light and it gets you experimenting right out of the gate, which is what you want in an automation style game.
So if you like survival games, or if you like automation games, I don't think you can go wrong with Atrio.

Great visual style and music, but that's not what you are here for. This game is distilled platforming. Controls are snappy and responsive. You will be pulling off pixel perfect jumps right from the first screen, and that's great because this game can get quite hard very quickly. Bite sized platforming action with some snicker worthy writing. It's great!

This game is absolutly brilliant, front to back. I wasn't really convinced that a platforming action game required VR, but the space that Moss creates is wonderful. It combines the best of Disney dark rides with beautiful presentation and tight responsive gameplay. Play Moss, it's fantastic.

probably the best VR game I have played. Punchout mechanics but more freeform. A few rounds with any of the cartoonish opponents will leave you sweaty and out of breath. A lot of fun.

Full disclosure: I know the developer and I have played in development versions of this game in the past.

Semispheres is a great puzzle game about planning ahead. Attempting to navigate both halves of each puzzle simultaineously can occasionally tax your dexterity, but very rarely are you required to do that. Most, if not all, of the puzzles can be solved in small steps, moving one stick at a time. If you are into puzzle games, but are worried that splitting your attention between two different independent characters would be frustrating, that isn't the focus of this game. And honestly, it feels good to just swim the two little squid guys around.
That said, the times that I did solve both sides of the puzzle simultaneously were very satisfying, and I would have been happy with some levels that required that sort of plan, practice, execute loop. Thumb gymnastics might not be for everyone, but I think it would make a nice addition to the core package of semispheres. I can understand not including those types of levels in the main story mode though. As caveates go, wanting more of an already satisfying, enjoyable game is hardly a criticism.
I really enjoyed my time with the game, and I could see myself revisiting it when I have forgotten the puzzle solutions.

I do know the devs of Astervoid 2000, and have played it in various states over the last few years, but I will attempt to review the game, as it is, as honestly as possible. Here's a spoiler though. I think it is very good.
Fast, snappy dual joystick control and clean mechanics. Feels similar to TowerFall or Smash Bros., where it's not so much variety of moves or abilities, but how you can use the simple tools made available to you in Astervoid 2000 that make it a fun pick up and play game for a group of friends.
The Single player wave mode is very entertaining for a few minutes at a time, and it's the sort of thing I can see myself coming back to in fits and starts for a long while to come.
Everything included, music, graphics, mechanics, is polished to a high shine, but there might not be enough there to keep anything less than a group of 3 or 4 engaged for a long time. The addition of some extra layers to the game, new modes, new weapons, abilities, etc. would probably cement Astervoid 2000s place as a couch classic.
