Edit: Sony dropped the requirements for the PSN account, so this review went from a negative to positive

You'll need a PSN account to play this game from May 6th onward. Given Sony's notorious history with data breaches I would advise against getting the game if you dont have any account linked to Sony.

The only circumstance I would get this game, which is very fun and memetastic is if you already have / have had a PS console / PSN account

Great teaser, played it on the PS4 and it's just as good on PC but with the benefit of better controls (IMO) that include M + KB. Gonna get the game for both platforms to see if there are any minor differences between the two.

There are high hopes that 7 will bring back the good innovative horror elements to which the first Resident Evil brought in 1996, I hope Capcom does not disappoint, the expectations are very high.

I loved this game on the N64 and the expansion pack made it extra special.

Take my positive review with a boulder of salt (mostly due to nostalgia), this game is worth 1 dollar tops with the amount of effort they put into optimizing the controls.

Read other reviews for story and playability, this is more of a technical complaint on control scheme.

The only reason this game does not get a max score on my review is because the control schemes were frustrating.

I played the RE 0 and 1 on the Gamecube and learned to play with that controller. For the RE-1 remastered on Steam I used the "Type B" control scheme since it emulated best the old GC controller.

What is frustrating to me is that Type B on tank (original) controls you ran with X and inventory was with B. In RE-0 the functions of X and B flip and confuse me to no end.

Also, Type B had you aiming with RT (right trigger) and firing with A, which is sort of the staple for the default one on this game (except on RE0 Type A you aim with RB). Type A on RE1 had aiming with LT and firing with RT (as far as I can remember)

I really wish CAPCOM included a little bit of controller consistency on these two titles, they did so well in with the GC versions.

Other than that no complaints 9.3/10

As an old RE fan this game is awesome, I absolutely love it, the story connects points, dont miss out.

One achievement? Piece of cake can do it.

Entered with low expectations, came out of the game hoping they make another poweful and emotional game like this. The soundtrack is amazing and story captures you, can't recomendid it enough.

Play it, you won't be disappointed.

In my local currency this game goes for 1.70 on a 90% discount. Bought it on the premise of being a mech and fighter jet. Not disappointed, at all.

It's short, with about 4 hours of gameplay but it delivers solid fun. It's not overly complicated and does not try to be so and it's honesty is laudable.

Trust me, get it. Good arcady action that you'll lose yourself into and now it has Steam cards, for all those Steam aficionados like me.

Addendum: For those other reviews mentioning the control scheme, it's better to use mouse and keyboard than controller plug-in. With M+KB you can aim with more precision, they aiming reticule is not locked to nose only (you can shoot in 30-45 degress to the sides, up and down while flying forward).

I had this game when it came out on the Gamecube in 2002, buying it again on Steam due to the retouches on the already impressive Nintendo port. All I have to say is the visuals are stunning on an old school Resident Evil atmosphere with a touch of modernity that will make you turn off the lights, crank up the sound and RElive the horror.

This game adds very little extras in relation to GC version, (a few costumes to which you have been spoiled and alternate control scheme). For us dinosaurs that grew up with tank controls, will find that a little adaptation is necessary to the new option available. If you don't have the game, this link will explain roughly how it works with the new version:

If you have not played this, I strongly suggest you take a dip into Resident Evil's origins. And besides that, you'll get a first row exclusive into understanding why Subway employees and Heavy from TF2 would be jealous of Jill.

P.S. Itchy... Scratchy... Tasty.

I really thought that the Left 4 Dead series was kind of overrated and never bothered to buy them or follow the community related to it. My heart started warming when I saw that both 1 and 2 had their price tag slashed on the Halloween Steam Sales, it was a real tempting offer but I wanted to buy games with more a scare / immersion factor instead of a more arcady zombie shoot 'em up, so I bought Dead Space (1 and 2) and both Bioshocks. Thankfully, steam gave good graces and offered L4D2 for free during one fine day (during the Winter Holiday Sales) and I can't say that I am disappointed, this game truly delivers the best in HL2 engine source fun. There are moments that you are relaxing finding ammo and suddenly all can go wrong when a horde of zombies are alerted to your presence in which you and your team have to kill all of the rushing face munchers to survive that campaign. If you like grinding against hordes of zombies that keep you at the edge of your seat, looking desperately for that vital healthpack, go no further. All I can say is buy L4D2, you won't be disappointed!
