There are no voice lines, no facial animations (or real faces) , yet I LOVE these characters and their journey.
So much is told and conveyed in simple text lines - the writing is excellent!
You start not knowing the world, the characters, the people involved, but as you go you learn so much.

It helps that the core game is so much fun also! ;)
A X-Com-Puzzle game with an easy rewind mechanic.

Very fun, very charming!
Maybe a bit on the pricey side.

Likable trash until the late game where the only goals are "kill 50 of those enemies" or "kill these 10 OP death bots that one shot you".

Great game, like the first one!

But the PC port is horrible. A jittery, janky mess.
Just had to redo a certain boss fight THREE times because the game keeps crashing in the cutscene AFTER the fight.

Update:
Just had to redo a whole level several times because the game crashes an there is NO autosave. Just your manual saves. And if there are no save point, like in this level - you are ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

It's weird. I played the game for hours without crashes but towards the last third it becomes unplayable.

I really liked the first part.
The follow up is very different but also very well made and fun.

Many nice ideas and overall it’s well made.
But it feels more like a chore than a game.
Huge time waste!

Very charming game that's a lot of fun even in this state.
They got the basic mechanics working (and made it fun!) and now more or less just keep adding content.
Normally I despise early access, but this is EA done right.
(Game was praised over at gamespodcast.de - it's the only reason I bought it in EA)

Looks great, runs well, but is a massive time sink.
Even with "cheating" and editing the server settings in your favor, it still is a grindy, sloooooooow game.

Very cool tower defense game with an active component.
Had lots of fun playing the campaign.
Didn't know they also made Riftbreaker, which is also sooooo good!

Horrible gameplay - DO NOT BUY!

Back in Action could pass as a lifeless 3D remake of the classic JA2 - if not for the horrible shooting mechanics and enemy AI.
