Gameplay itself is great, bugs and automatons play very much differently, forcing you to take completely different tactics. Guns, Stratagems and the likes all feel fun and so far feel like they occupy their own niches in the sandbox.

Sound design is great in all aspects, ambient, music, guns. The game has its own spark which is missing in so many others these days.

For negatives, nProtect is something that is still rubbing me the wrong way and the ever present cash shop has me worried.

But for now, i do not recommend the game. It is highly unplayable, biggest reason for any and all players is the shoddy servers.

So come back when things are stable, save your money for now,

After some time now, i decided to re-review the game. The Kernel level anticheat is still something that gives me the heebie jeebies, but the comments from the dev team to take this into consideration and making sure it can be deleted from your system reliably is putting me somewhat at ease.

The cash shop is non-intrusive with the currency used being something any player can collect via normal play and the free 'Season Pass'. Similarly the Premium Season Pass is consumer friendly with being possible to be bought with the same such currency and them not timing out after the season.

Servers are finally working in quite a good order, no real major hiccups so far. All in all, at the end of this small ordeal, i do not regret buying and throughly enjoy spreadin Managed Democracy!

Join the Helldivers, Citizen!

I never thought i would need to adjust this review for a third time... but here i am! Sony deciding to be Undemocratic automatons and force PSN accounts on us Helldivers. My Helldiving days will be numbered since either all my friends will abstain from making accounts or literally can't make one even if they wanted.

Suppose Sony got what they wanted, they won this war and knocked us all out of the fight... shame we didn't get to see the Illuminates, it has been an honor fighting with you these past days, god speed Helldivers o7

Holy moly... i never thought i would change a review for a game for the 4th time, but here we are! MAJOR ORDER COMPLETE HELLDIVERS!!!

Sonymatons have been pushed back and Helldiver systems have been brought back online, no more do we need to sign up for a PSN account to spread Democracy!

Mark this day in your calenders and celebrate our collective capability to achieve the impossible!

God speed Helldivers! o7

Doesn't seem worth it, performance feels odd and the graphics are a mixture of quite nice and extremely cheap. Mechs are mechs, didn't play that far but they seem really generic.

Personally i do not know who thought it would be a good idea to make literally everything you do cost "fuel". Even hosing down a mech with water costs "fuel". Doesn't help that the water bills runs into the several thousands in seconds.

Also turning all the "repairing" into hunt the pixel mini games gets tedious real quick, finding that last pixel of rust in some spaghetti shaped armour piece to get it "repaired" just does my head in. Dont get me started on "welding", the moment you start the welding minigame you start bleeding fuel aka. money. So instead of "welding" you are spinning the piece at Mach 5 infront of you to click the nasty red spots as quickly as possible to not run the welding costs into the thousands.

About the disassembly of the mechs. Ye, mechanic games make you remove nuts and bolts. This is not a problem. What is a problem, is making them part of the full assembly as a trackable part. Have fun spinning some mech part around to find that single NUT holding a bolt in place just so you can get some dust cover off. Also hunt the pixel again since you need to aim directly at the nut to unscrew it.

Also pray to god you didn't accidentally forget to add a bolt somewhere inside the assembly, time to pull the thing apart again and find where that single bolt goes.

I am not the biggest mechanic game "gamer" but there are better ones out there, they might not be mechs or look as spiffy on the surface, but the overall gameplay is better than here.

If you do insist on playing this, go to the options to mute your android "friend" you will thank me later.

PS. Why would the devs give an option to mute the bugger unless they knew he would be grating?

This game sadly just doesn't work. The mouse control is choppy and broken, enemies are 100% accurate from any range and blend into the environment while shooting through corners and opening/closing doors, melee enemies are ridiculously fast and eat through your health while also stacking on top of eachother.

The maps are huge labyrinthes with no minimaps to help navigate them, while also being stingy with ammo and health pickups. Speaking of ammo, who in the hell decided that you can't pickup ammo for a certain gun if you aren't holding it in your hands while picking up said ammo? Also don't bother using automatic weapons in this game, any damage/action you take has a chance to make you stop fireing (engine limitations?), makes you think when something made in 2016 is of lesser quality than something made in 1992.

My recommendation is to just buy Doom, Quake or Wolfenstein instead.

(This review used to be a thumbs down, changed due to updates)

The Witcher 3 is a game that i really want to like and do like, when it works. It really pulls on my heartstrings that this game refuses to work properly no matter what i do.

Storyline

The few missions / quests i have managed to do are done really well, the number of ways you can complete them or even haphazardly stumble upon is refreshing. The more linear storytelling from past Witcher games has been dropped, so for the players interested in a more straightforward telling of an epic story might be a tad disappointed.

Gameplay

This one is a bit of a mixed bag. The world of Witcher 3 is open, filled with things to do and kill. Sometimes the amount of filler things to do just overwhelms your logs and the main story takes a backseat, tho this varies from person to person.

Geralts controls are somewhat wonky, he wants to keep going into directions you don't want him to go and the merging of jumping with dodging is irritating at times. You will learn how to control Geralt, but at times it really feels like he was slapped with the derp stick.

(This has changed due to refined and alternate controls being available, Geralt stopped sipping that wine :D)

Characters

This one is just a simple 10/10, i just have big soft spot for all the good / bad guys from all the Witchers.

Graphics

The graphics are great, no doubt about that. Were they downgraded? Yes, and it sucks. But with some love with SweetFx you can make TW3 look quite awesome. But i have to give CD Projekt RED a hand for the effects in TW3, just lovely.

Sounds

All the ambient, music and monster sounds feel spot on, i haven't run into anything yet that felt off or weak in quality. The thunder in your Aard sign, the howls of the monsters and that oh so great Witcher™ style music, just lovely.

Overall

Even with all the great aspects of this game i can't recommend it, atleast not yet. The amount of crashing, display driver errors and hitching has got to be fixed before i could wholeheartedly recommend this game. These problems are not just limited to me, but for quite a few of my friends aswell.

I really wish CD Projekt RED would stop focusing on the silly free DLC bits and fix these problems. Because like i said in the beginning, i want to like TW3 but TW3 doesn't want to co-operate.

(TW3 was patched and fixed, so to be fair i should update this review. When you are reading this, know that TW3 launch was a bit rocky but now you will get one of the best RPG experiences per $ spent, buy the complete-ultimate-WTF edition you will not regret it)
