Selecting do not recommend here feels pretty harsh. I do recommend it if the premise seems interesting, however, I wouldn't suggest it to someone who isnt an avid fan of walking sims in the same vein as firewatch, and edith finch. And unfortunately, I don't think it stand as an equal amongst its peers.

Setting-wise this game rules. Really pretty and some nice music too. I think the story is fine, although it has some unecessary bumps around the climax that feel a bit forced. It seems to me that this game purposefully left questions unanswered to set up for sequels (this is all but confirmed in the credits). Which ultimately leaves for a sort of unsatisfying ending.

Its okay I think.

Bro is not the Dubai grim reaper!!!

I think the game is pretty important, no other game of this scale really attempts to do what it does here. Although, I cant say I ever want to experience it again.

The IDF still uses white phosphorus in Gaza.

An interesting little game. Sci-fi thriller with no aliens, supernatural entities, or horror. Just the suspense and mystery onset by the hubris and shortcomings of man.

Better story, worse game.

Like The Chinese Room's other game Dear Esther, this game is a walking simulator. A very British and pretentious one at that. Virtually all notable features of the first Amnesia are absent here, like the sanity meter and lantern depletion. All that remains is the unique door opening and some very underutilized physics (I swear you can only pick up chairs and nothing else). It may sound like I hate this game but I don't! It story lowkey rules, although too many crucial aspects are hidden behind collectible notes. In many ways I think this is my largest criticism, and probably what turned most off, as the story without them is pretty barebones. Game is also poorly optimized, and janky at times. But all in all still totally worth your time.

I might even prefer it over the first one, but it is definitely the worst game

Good god this was a grind but I finally beat it. Gotta say, I was really excited to play this. I was hoping it would be everything I loved about warband improved upon. It is not that, and in many ways it is a downgrade with alot of crucial features just missing (holy hell why cannot I give vassals suggestions on where to attack the AI is soooo bad). I think it could be great, and I look forward to seeing where the modding scene goes. But if I ever get a mount and blade itch, Im going back to warband.

wow, this game was not good.

First off let me preface this review. This game is weird, really weird. But not the cool weird, the kind that you get from the likes of pathologic and og fallout, or any oldschool adventure game. No, this is like, bad weird. Unpolished visuals, and uncanny character models weird. But it doesn't stop here. The game follows the story of a mother attempting to rescue her son from a haunted park. You get the idea, and the premise is not half bad but ooh boy do they fumble the delivery. The MC will narrate and provide exposition for backstory as you play. Problem is that while the voice acting is passable, the actual writing is god awful. Its odd, I thought "oh the creators must be foreign" but like they're Norwegian?! They are essentially native speakers and yet the dialogue sounds like it was put through alien google translate. Anyways the game loosely uses the theme park rides as a gimmick more than a tool for storytelling, with them holding little significance to actual progression. I do think that the biggest highlight was the roller coaster ride. Genuinely interesting well put together scene all though it, like most parts of the game, could use some polish at parts.

The game finishes with a poor PT rip off with an infinite repeating set of hallways, concepts of which have been executed far better in other pc games (layers of fear, potato thriller (lmao)). The game concludes at just about an hour runtime. All in all, not good, and I feel bad to say this but this genuinely feels like it would be a perfect fit on itch.io for free or maybe if it was entered into a game contest and made in under a year? Idk, paying money for this is crazy lowkey.

This is the game you think you'd make if you made a game.

You're not that guy pal.

Felling pretty neutral on this one, was tempted to mark not recommend but I don't feel too strong on either side so best you make up your own mind. I think that the story could be very significant for someone out there but for myself it may have been a bit mute, and while I am not quite at the point of these other reviewer's claims on the games pretentious notions, I do feel that the story lacked a layer of depth that could've made it into something truly special, lacklustrely covered up through the guise of flowery wording.

EDIT:
After reflecting for a bit, I think that this game has some major flaws that cannot be overlooked and have left me unsatisfied with the product. As such I'm adjusting my score and recommendation to reflect this. I still note that for the right person, this game could be significant. That person is not me however.
