it's still kino lads

There's a base for a really good game which is surprising since this was made coming right off of nearly going bankkrupt, but is currently ruined by a bunch of hardly explainable design choices. The good things are

>the launch heists are a bit simple/basic but still pretty solid and much better than PD2 on launch, no lazy map reusage
>heist tasks can be repetitive but arent tedious
>everything about the guns and fighting enemies feels really good
>stealth feels better overall

The bad things which makes me say wait 6-12 months before buying:

>3rd party service that hosts the servers that you have to sign up for (it's hardly functioning at the moment)
>because of above it's always online
>xp is tied to completing annoying and grindy challenges (do x with y sort of thing)
>no server/lobby browsing, forced to always use matchmaking for a specific heist and difficulty level, which again hardly works cause of the poor servers (and just hard to find games that you're looking for)
>no easy way to play solo
>god awful ui/ux which makes doing anything in the menus annoying, and it's only going to get worse once they add more content to browse through
>no chat on lobby screen
>really boring perk skills

The worst way to play what was already arguably the worst version of one of my favourite games. The AI upscaling of the backgrounds are really bad with the original low quality SFX when in battle. They didn't even add in manual skill inheritance.

You can pay for the worst experience of the game you can get, or emulate FES with the HD mod and get the best experience instead for free. You can even get a mod that adds in direct party control if you don't like the command system.

Please buy this game. Only two main flaws are that your squadron members are boring/forgettable and mission scenarios could have been a bit more interesting.
