Early Access Review
[Updated] Abandoned game. Relied entirely on Early access funding and not much publicity. Now were out a game and money do to the mishandling of the title. Bad deal for those who bought the game and expected any effort to keep it alive or updated.

[Gameplay] Overall very simple but can be loads of fun with friends which is clearly the intent of the game to be kinda B-movie-ish. You have multiple classes with different health stats and custom weapon load outs as well as various abilities, both passive and active. I personally found Rosy to be my favorite. Very tanky and great crowd control with minigun. I have not spent as much time with the other classes but I didn't find much reason to want to as they felt too weak in comparison.
The enemies are good but dont feel varied enough. You have an electric/armored/alpha and basic raptor and a few big dinos. The flatback being the most annoying if you are out of explosives as you need them to tip them on their side to get the weak point. Seeing one on higher difficulties and you are low on grenades or other boom booms can be much more intimidating than the big bad T-Rex as they can spam attack you into oblivion and are pretty hard to dodge with the side dashing. The armored "Bulls" (which are triceratops with hard plating) can be pretty fun to fight while chipping away at their armor. The T-rex is pie. If you get cornered its all over but being unarmored and a pretty big weak spot, the most challenging part about the fight is making sure you keep your ammo supplied as he can really take a hit.

The weapon upgrade system works well enough. You get resource points and materials for completing objectives and killing dinos which can be used to purchase limited amount of upgrade tokens and unlock upgrade slots in the offered categories each weapon provides such as impact(damage modifiers), Crit(crit and armor penetration), stability(handling of recoil), etc. These upgrade slots can be mixed and match to your choosing but are limit as to not be able to upgrade everything at once but instead make a build for your weapon that can be changed anytime before a mission. In addition the upgrade slots let you expand the weapons abilities beyond just basic stat increases like fire, explosive and shock, flak(semi-broken atm) damage as well as reload, rate of fire, and mult-shot abilities.

[performance/stability]
For an early access title it is very well optimized and very pretty to look at. Using the minigun with the fire augment at point blank can cause the fps to tank a bit on a 1070/i7-8700. The gameplay has some bugs that can make some weapons pretty underwhelming but are listed as known issues and are planned to be fixed/balanced. Their are also some uncommon cases where you may get disconnected randomly even in solo play. But like I said pretty uncommon and their is a system in play so you earn some of the loot you earned. Zero crashes as of review.

Overall a fun, solid, bloody, dino murder simulator and excited to see future progress.

Improved greatly on a technical level. Runs perfect at 4k, game looks sharper and crystal clear, Minimap is nice, FOV has been added. Still uses the old "sun flares" instead of the actual god rays thats not really an issue. Also free. Wish it had a better soundtrack, makes the game feel boring listening to such an underwhelming soundtrack.

Xbox one wireless controller doesn't work. M/KB controls are borderline broken with just grey circles representing what keys to use in the tutorials. Voice acting is cringe worthy. Performance is trash on a i7-8700/gtx 1070 and the game looks like budget trash from 2006. Its feels like they should have come in with a game plan before really bothering. Horse animations are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hilarious and the bow aiming sensitivity is set to 11 (billion).

Edit: Got xbox controller working after restarting game and performance improved a bit. The game still had issues such as the wrong button layout in the tutorials telling you to hit the wrong buttons causing great confusion.

Bioshock is a great game even if it it has some dull moments. It's a "remaster" so gameplay aside I'm mostly focusing on remastered aspects and gameplay wise it's exactly the same as the original. That said the remaster of Bioshock is deceptivly better looking than it really appears at first glance. The overall image feels sharper making the enviroments you explore more believable thanks to enhanced textures that are more realistic and have hormony with its surroundings. The lighting is the most welcoming upgrade as it gave the game the much needed facelift it deserves, adding a defined contrast to many of the games finer details. I find that these visual touch ups are quite nice and will allow the player to feel more immersed without the distraction of the muddy visuals of the original. I recommend the remaster mostly to newcomers as it feels more like how the game should have been. People who have played the game before may expect too much from the remaster and feel disappointed as it's not that jarring of an upgrade.

Nice art but quite frustrating. Not in difficulty sense, the game is rather easy. It’s just boring. I thought I was in for a treat as the game went through in beginning phases but it fell flat pretty quickly once it starting moving. Many of the environments are beyond annoying to navigate. Between world objects blocking you such as plants, rocks and the tiresome enemies chasing you endlessly to make you engage in a snooze fest of a battle it really starts to become a chore. Whisper of a Rose attempts at bringing in a skill tree to the genre which works but not as well as it could. You collect skill upgrades in random places or talking to random npcs, many which can be easily missed. You do not earn any skills from just leveling up so It’s nice that they did something different and encourage exploration but this game simple isn’t worth exploring. Its pointless to escape from battles because the enemies simply spawn right next to you only to engage the battle again. If you try running far away hoping you can lose them don’t bother. They can often navigate the annoying terrain better than you. If you do successfully get away you’ll only be met by another horde immediately after or during your escape. Want to find a way to that chest you see on that ledge? Well then be prepared to put 30 minutes at least trying to painstakingly get to it. First JRPG I’ve ever desperately tried not to get into any battles. Not just because they are pointless and boring but because it will cause you to level way to quickly, obliterating any challenges. 5/10

Its not bad, but doesn't feel like Max Payne. The narrative, the art, gameplay and the overall feeling doesn't capture what it means to be Max Payne. It nearly broke the game for me but was still good enough to warrant not to give a thumps down.
