It's good but it's not quite a great game. There's just a few too many issues such as:
Game mechanics that aren't adequately explained or difficult and frustrating to pull off safely.
The annoying amount of distance between many of the boss fights and the nearest respawn points.
Parkouresque boss fights (I'm looking at you Cerebellum) being locked behind even parkourier rooms that leave you with no health and no way to heal before the fight.
A main weapon that even after finding the upgrade crystals feels far too anaemic to be of any use, I ended up spending most of my time ignoring the gun and relying more and more on bomb and spin attack mods.

It's a recommendation but only if it's on sale, just set your expectations accordingly.

What if Tom Nook from Animal Crossing was some sort of Eldritch being who stalks your waking daymares for all eternity?

What do you mean "What if?"

Just play it already, then throw down some cash for the soundtrack. That way you'll feel less guilty for playing a potential GOTY candidate for the grand old price of nuppence.

An excellent nonogram game from the same development studio that has brought out the Picross series for the Game Boy, SNES, DS, 3DS and Switch. It's not just a nonogram game though, the gimmick this time is to combine previous puzzles together to unlock new ones, sort of like those Alchemy mobile games.

If you're a fan of the Picross series or logic puzzles in general, this is sure to be a must purchase.

Who would have thought that the best way to improve on the survivor arena genre would be to add VTubers and even more memes?

It worked though!

Good clean fun with a pressure washer. Also there's something to do with corrupt politicians and the billionaires who fund them, time travel (doubly so with the dlc), alien civilisations and garden gnomes connected to a network of spy cameras, but I might be wrong about that last one.

Imagine if you will a young man propelled by a "chocolate fountain", an owl spirit animal, and a multidimensional time travel romp involving a flash based Mavis Beacon clone.

Now take that thought and throw it in a blender with some brass instruments and a troop of baboons.

Congratulations, you're now on a watch-list for cruelty to imaginary wildlife. You've also just made quite possibly the best rhythm game ever involving trombones.

Originally reviewed the prologue. Everything I mentioned in there still stands, and then some. An excellent take on and worthy entry into the survival arena genre. There's a shedload of upgrades and difficulty enhancers to play around with that would put even some full price games to shame, never mind a cheap indie title. Oh and the music absolutely slaps!

Can't really tell what's changed since The Ultimate Box PC release 13 years ago. The smash boards have "Remastered" printed on them and they've finally added in the console version's DLC extra content. I think that might be everything.

Recommend as long as it's on sale.

Come on EA/Criterion, we need a proper new Burnout game!

An excellent take on and worthy entry into the survival arena genre. There's a shedload of upgrades and difficulty enhancers to play around with that would put even some full price games to shame, never mind a free demo. Oh and the music absolutely slaps! Looking forward to the full release hopefully sometime soon.
