I wish I could recommend this game; I truly do. There are so many things to like here, but the flaws, bugs, and non-functional features make it hard to recommend.

The developers have left multiple progress-breaking bugs in the game and are very slow to address them. Loading screens are everywhere, and there is no frame cap in the game, except for half refresh rate V-sync or full refresh rate V-sync (aptly named as 30fps and 60fps caps in the game settings). Thus, one needs to use RTSS or another frame-limiting software to cap the fps. Otherwise, if you play in windowed mode, you will see 1000 fps. You know something is missing when both the opening intro and credits are bugged and unfinished.

Many game systems do not work as intended or are bugged or even outright broken.

The game's core revolves around collecting multiple heroes. Unfortunately, quite a few recruitment events are bugged and require either a workaround, a mod, or a patch to complete. There are also quite a few recruitment quests that are time-gated, so prepare to spend hours recruiting just a single character.

The game does not explain anything, so be prepared to check the game's help menu to understand what is going on.

Localization has received a lot of criticism from others. It's passable, but the English script differs from the Japanese script. The English script contains many typos, even with something as basic as "your" vs. "you're." The English voice acting is horrible. I do recommend switching to Japanese voice acting, which is better but suffers from a really bad audio mix, as does the rest of the game.

When the game is good, it really is enjoyable. Collecting a vast array of characters and building your own city feels rewarding. The story is pretty mediocre—it’s not bad, but it’s so forgettable that it’s a shame the characters aren’t utilized better. Almost all of the characters are underused, and even if you want to build your own party, most of the game restricts you to a few specific characters. It seems many elements were cut from the final product, leading to some odd dialogue both early and very late in the game.

Wait until the developer, if ever, fixes most of the issues, and this game could be much better. At this point, it's a solid 7/10.

Soundtrack is only 128kbps mp3. Artbook is 48 pages, instead of advertised 60 pages. Both are "installed" with installing soundtrack and browsing files. Negative recommendation due to 128kbps mp3.

Sony shenanigans are undemocratic.

Got achievement for being hit by Democracy. 10/10 Would Democracy if no Sony.

Great game after all the fixes.

A fun jrpg with a lot of nice QoL features that really shines on Deck or other portables.
