Although a bit repetitive at times, this is a great game and you should at least try it if you're into action rpgs. The combat is unmatched for sure, there's plenty of content for two playthrough (if only because it's rather easy to miss some on the first one) and the pawn system is just genius, read on it.
Another thing I really like that's not mentioned so often is how every character will fit into the scenery. There are bits and pieces of lore scattered in the game, but it's rather unclear what does and what doesn't belong in it. Character creator is very rich and there's lots of gear with different themes to it, so you can make just about anything you'd like. I'm rolling with a recreation of my pale elf from Pillars of Eternity, my pawn is a dwarf slayer from WHF and not even once I thought that they seem a little out of place. It's great.
Overall, I'd rate it 8 or 9. I'm not a big fan of the way quest were handled, although I can see the reason behind it. Fighting packs of harpies and wolfs gets old quick, but you can just run past them.
