Great story if you've played through halo 1-5 and have read some of the novels. Seeing halo wars 2 kinda helps to understand as well.

The Brute Chieftain in the last boss fight is the true final boss of the game

Good game if you're a mecha fan! For m&k, controls are kind of confusing at first but as you unlock all the abilities it feels nice, albeit you can get 0-100'd stunlocked by some mob swarms later on in the story.

Not the most complex story but good animation, mecha design and voice acting

Destroying friendships for 3 hours with terrible teamwork and brains freezing

Edit: this review was after a 3 hour pico park session and I meant to review that game lmao. But apex is pretty fun, movement only second to titanfall 2 for a fps game, and probably my favorite shooter that I suck at

Good game, even on jedi master its easier than sekiro's normal difficulty. Some stuff is annoying like getting shot by a storm trooper automatically stops you from climbing / jumping etc, and early game can be rough before you get abilities.

I purchased Deemo: Reborn in the bundle with all the song packs, one day ago (04/10/2021 - its midnight when i wrote this). This review is mainly for others who love mobile / arcade style rhythm games.

First of all let me say that I'm a pretty big supporter of rhythm games where they have a layout of the notes coming from the back of the screen towards the front. I played Deemo when I was a kid doing level 7-9, a little bit of other rayark games but not interested in those as much. In 2016-2017 I played Museca up to the highest level, and Sound Voltex, Dance Dance Revolution and Pump It Up after Museca shut down until 2020. Those arcade rhythms I mostly played around lvl16-17 for the hand rhythm and 15-16 for the foot ones.

Deemo: Reborn is a remake of the classic Deemo, so if you've played it then you'll have an idea of how it plays. But compared to the original where you're playing with a touchscreen, you play with 6 buttons and space bar instead so if you're not used to pc controls then its a bit awkward at first. The default binds are sdf jkl for left and right side notes, with the d and k notes being labeled with a black bar instead of a white one. Personally, I found the middle notes for each finger being a black note kind of distracting and confusing since I'm used to the original game having every note be all white or all black. I wish they would add a feature to let you change the note colors or increase the separator lline clarity since it matters much more on pc than mobile.

Moving onto the songs, the soundtrack is wonderful, and definitely feels like it was mixed and mastered with pc audio in mind - its not compressed like on mobile. Difficulty levels range up to lvl 11, with there being one lvl 11 song and the rest of the hard mode songs ranging from 6-10. Below lvl 6 felt pretty easy if you're using to rhythms, lvl 7-8 was the range I did most of my playthrough to finish the story at around 80-90% accuracy on average. I used speed 7.5 until I beat the story. After I beat the story and started focusing on song completion / scores, I raised the speed to 9 and recommend it for higher difficulty songs (8+) because the notes can feel cramped otherwise. Bumped up scores pretty consistently across the board. I think for players used to arcade or mobile rhythms like myself, depending on your average skill level I think this will satisfy you for a month or two. For the peak arcade / mobile rhythm gamers, probably a few weeks, and I bet you're full comboing all the songs. I can't compare for osu gamers, I don't really play osu :(

For the story, its really cute and fun playing as Alice (the little girl) and walking around the rooms. Some of the songs are locked behind playing the rhythm aspect of the game, but a good chunk of the rest in the base game are hidden in little minigames across the room. I liked the puzzles but the ones with arrow key movement were a bit annoying to move because they were too tight in the movement. Also if like me, your brain isn't the fastest, then I recommend taking your time with the puzzles because there's a good amount of them. Aside from the puzzles, the cutscenes are for the most part short and simple but pretty, and of course accompanied with beautiful music. And in terms of the rhythm progression its like the original Deemo: you keep playing songs and then the tree you see at the beginning of the game grows as you play, with the goal of the story to finish growing the tree (via playing). If you don't like the minigames then you can just keep playing songs and eventually the tree will just grow and skip some of the story-related puzzles.

Song Selection: There's four albums in the base game: Deemo Collection 1, Collection 2, Vocal Collection and Reborn Collection. I think you get around 40 songs (I'm not done unlocking them all) in the base game. And the DLC song packs are $5 per but I heavily recommend getting the bundle for all the dlc with the base game. that at least doubles your song collection for $10 more, and imo, most of the more intricate charts in the higher difficulties are in the dlc packs anyways. Plus, in the initial story, the song choices from the base game is pretty small since you have to unlock them, so if you don't want to play any minigames then you will most likely get bored of the base game songs until you beat the story - unless you play the dlc songs as well.

Lastly, I did stream my playthrough of the deemo story on 4/09/2021, along with some more song gameplay on 4/10/2021. If you're interested in seeing the gameplay at the mid-higher levels to almost highest, check out my twitch streams on those dates under xero_the_banana .
