Early Access Review
Low sodium, super fun, and fast-paced game with tons of furry players in the community.
Definitely recommend!

Early Access Review
This is by far my favorite FPS game, hands down. This is similar to ARMA but screw ARMA - seriously, F that game. The biggest difference between ARMA and Squad is the development teams. One wants to monetize every aspect of the game by selling dozens of expensive DLC's and the other dev team wants to make a good game. DLCs and profits aside, you can tell how much Offworld Industries loves their game and their patrons. These guys genuinely care about everything that goes into this game and every player (as they listen to the community, take advice, and host matches for prominent clans). All that junk ARMA makes you pay for (totaling over $200, I'm sure) Squad offers for free. Everyone can enjoy the same game for $40.

Yes, this is an early access game and it's been in Alpha stage for over 2 years now. During that time the dev team has been hard at work constantly adding new features, making general quality-of-life improvements, and swiftly tackling any bugs that may come. Speaking of bugs....Yep, not a whole lot of those! As a matter of fact, this "Alpha" game preforms better than some "Finished" games like Rising Storm 2. I had to stop playing that game...There were just WAY too many bugs and the dev team started moving in the wrong direction selling cosmetics that once had to be earned and quickening the gameplay to resemble a more CoD style of antic shooters. DO NOT LET THE "ALPHA/EARLY ACCESS" SCARE YOU AWAY FROM THIS GAME! It is more playable than other games that call themselves "finished", like RS2.

The last couple things I want to say about this game go as followed:
This is a teamwork game. If you are wandering around one of these 2km, 4km, or even 8km maps by yourself, expect to get booted from your squad. If you are ejected from your squad, you will lose your role which means you lose w/e special weapon you may have had too and get the "recruit" kit consisting of a basic rifle, 2 magazines, and 2 bandages; no grenades - I'm looking at you, snipers.....

You are expected to communicate with your team and follow your squad leader's commands. 1 person can not "carry" the team. 1 squad cannot carry the team (however they may significantly impact it). More often than not, winning teams have at least 3 squads working together. You also really need a mic to play. Playing without one brings your team down and many Squad Leaders ask for mic checks in order to be in their squad.

And finally, the community is badass. Sure, you still have a few ragers but overall, this is a very welcoming community. Though not as many people play Squad as opposed to other more popular FPS games, you will find that our player-base is one of the most dedicated. People are generally happy to help you learn how to play. There is a pretty harsh learning curve if you're used to the more antic type shooters like CS:GO, CoD, and the like. There are really fast moments and really slow moments. You could play a game and only see a couple enemies despite being in a server with 80 players. You will still have fun though! You will be told what to do and when to shoot and not to shoot, but you will still have fun! Talk to any seasoned player and ask them their favorite moments of this game. I guarantee it'll be something ridiculous like watching a couple squad members banter with each other or some other hilarious moment. It won't be about how well they did; it will be about how hard they laughed.

This game is gold and it's only going to get better.
Just buy it, okay!
(but if you're still skeptical, pick it up on a free weekend as they come semi-regularly)

I love this game so damn much. If you've never played it, you should! If you've played it before, play it again!

Also, I just noticed the ESRB says "Use of alcohol and tobacco". Those are opium pipes! XD
It also says "Blood and Gore". There's very little blood and certainly no gore. Gore is like dismemberment and/or disembowelment. I mean, unless you count demons combusting into flowers........
ESRB......you're bad at this.

First off, I wanted to say that I got this game for free on my Android phone and tablet. I'd heard about it before it was launched and was interested but, in my busy life, forgot about it until a few days ago when it was recommended to me when opening the GooglePlay store. I didn't bother to read the reviews or anything, I just picked it up and started reading and playing.

I finished the story on my tablet and I thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so that I would purchase it on Steam to benefit its creator and encourage him to continue creating more games like this.

I opened my Steam Store and saw a bunch of bad reviews even though Major\minor is reviewed as “Very Positive”. Frankly, I find a lot of the bad reviews just plain puzzling and allow me to explain why. I originally played this on the tablet and phone version. It doesn't have the sound, the ability to edit your name, you can't even make calls. I had to laugh a little when I read people complaining about the music. I didn't have sound at all and I still found this story to be great and immersive. The characters were believable in the sense that you may not like them or agree with them entirely but still favor them in some way. There is a sense of depth there. Now, I'm not saying this was the best story I've read, but it certainly wasn't bad! You don't have to be a furry to enjoy this story but one thing that I'll say as a furry to other furries.....have you read some of the -really- bad furry novels out there?! LOL! But I guess it's just a difference in tastes, as art always is.

I wouldn't put this up on Kyell Gold's level of literature but it reminded me of the grittier moments in Kyell's Volle (or Prisoner's Release) series. Still, this was a fantastic read and look forward to playing through again to see some of the many outcomes and, of course, have fun experiencing the full version of the game for the first time too.

A great RTS focusing on civilization with ecological balance in mind and a mild military force. Very intricate. Hours and hours of fun :3

!!*EDIT*!!
Coming back to this years later and like the others have said, this is unplayable now.
It really shouldn't even be on the Steam store at this point.

Couldn't get it to even run. After about an hour of messing with it, I just think we'll have to file this for "fond memories" but no longer.
