Beneath its outdated mechanics lies a story of unparalleled depth, rich with moral complexity, political intrigue, and a world steeped in dark fantasy. But the gameplay is clunky and frustrating. Combat feels awkward and unengaging, more of a chore than an adventure. The mechanics weigh down what could have been a seamless experience.

The narrative is undeniably worth experiencing. The characters are layered, the choices matter, and the world feels alive in all its gritty, unforgiving glory. It’s a story that lingers with you, even if the act of playing through it feels like trudging through horse manure quicksand.

Fortunately, the Witcher 1 Remake is on the way, and honestly, it’s worth waiting for that. If you're eager to dive into the Witcher series right now, I’d suggest watching a recap or lore video and then jumping straight into Witcher 2 instead.

As much as I appreciate this effort, Dagon ultimately fails to evoke the sheer, marrow-chilling terror that makes Lovecraft’s original work so unforgettable. The way Lovecraft weaves his words, daemonic, otherworldly, and steeped in dread, is an art form that creeps into the soul and lingers like a shadow over one's thoughts. Sadly, this adaptation does not capture that same oppressive, cosmic horror, nor does it rival the vivid, nightmarish images conjured by my imagination when reading Dagon itself.

While Bit Golem has clearly poured care and respect into this project, and the atmosphere does carry a certain charm, I cannot recommend it. Why? Because the experience it offers pales in comparison to the one you can create in your own mind by simply reading the story. Lovecraft’s genius lies in his ability to let the reader’s imagination run wild, filling the gaps with horrors far worse than anything explicitly stated. This game, though enjoyable in parts, ultimately limits that creative freedom, offering a shadow of what the original tale achieves. For those seeking to immerse themselves in the eldritch, I’d suggest returning to the source material, where the true horrors of Dagon still reside.

Honestly, just buy the normal game, if you want to try this buy the pics alone, you understand what this game is going to be. So just buy it, the BIG MUD sessions are just unnecessary. While there is pretty much nothing here to do, this is a pretty cool and interactive way to showcase your music and art.

The game is a dinosaur, and you can feel it with every inch of your body while playing. It's one of those old titles that will make your blood boil from it's insanely stupid controls, movement and AI with wallhack autolock. Making it effectively fail as a stealth game, prepare for a Call of Duty sniping experience. It's a real shame, since the game looks pretty cool and interesting, it's just so suffering to play.

I think there are two types of people who played this game. One person who has no problem with using 10 minutes of their time in a cute little puzzle game that tries to be a little funny. The other person might appreciate the game for it's wholesomeness, but ultimately thinks that his time was wasted. I happen to be the other person, at least with this game there was no false advertising. It's just a short couple of quick puzzles, if that sounds cool for you then get it.

As a kid in museums I would always imagine myself in the paintings I was watching, It was always an interesting experience as sometimes you would have proper Heaven and Hell scenarios like Hieronymus Bosch. Where pain and suffering was so easily visible next to the far reaching paradise that is heaven. It's a chaos that this game recreates, and I never thought a point & click game could not only be this good, but be this interesting. It's a genuine fun experience that showcases and recreates art in a liveable sense I haven never seen before.

The problem with this game, is that it takes longer time than Hearts of Iron, but it is much simpler, you don't have complete control like in Paradox games, yet it's even more tedious and time consuming. It's pretty much just a scenario game, which could be fun if you are just starting with strategy games or have an itch for WW2 command. However, if you are a veteran in strategy games, then I highly doubt this will satisfy you.

Better than Overwatch 2.

This game is probably enjoyable for others, it's essentially an excuse to play simple arcade games. However, the quality of the arcade games alone doesn't justify a purchase alone, so they put together a story which has it's moments, most notably the parentally philosophical Bestwurst scene. It's ultimately trying to replicate the 80s arcade experience, but in reality it becomes a tedious simulation of mundane tasks, occasionally rewarding the player with mediocre arcade games.

That's fine, but it wasn’t what I was looking for. The game takes a long time to get started and earning all the achievements was a pain, so I'm glad this one is over. That said, if this is your type of game, arcade + simulation, then this is a really good game for you. Unfortunately, it was not for me.

I really wanted to like this game, I really tried, but I just can't. It's 36 years old at this point, and while the graphics are okay, the UI is killing me, leaving me frustrated even when playing casually. That said, I understand that my failure to enjoy it is on me, and I don’t blame the game for it. I just wish I could have experienced it before. I fear this might be the case for many younger players who might somehow buy it. I’d advise them to try the newer games or the remaster instead, as this one is rough to get into if you're from a newer generation.
