Fallout New Vegas has arguably the best writing and rpg elements of at least the 3D Fallout games, and probably among the best in the entire series. That being said, it isn't perfect. When it came out, it was heavily buggy and the Fallout 3 engine hasn't aged well. I don't recommend playing it on Ps3/360, because this is one of those games that's far better with mods so that its better aspects can truly shine.
