Erken Erişim İncelemesi
BACKGROUND

I haven't played this game much since I bought it more than 2 years ago. However, the Game has been made with a focus on realism in a way that allows immersion to see what a battle might be like during the 18th Century. Gameplay style is much like EVE Online in a sense that most ships are Player-Made and require enormous amounts of expensive resources, and those ships are lost in battle permanently when destroyed. The other resemblance from EVE Online is that there's no single best ship; All ships are useful in combat situations, while the more expensive ships have a stronger attack and stronger hull.

PRICE/QUALITY

The pricing for the Game matches that of a typical Console Game, although the price may change if the game turns towards a Microtransaction Model (very likely). In my opinion, the value of what you're getting for the price is specifically in the in-game instanced battles, which includes controlling a sailing ship in varying weather, firing cannons at your enemies with the help of friends and faction members, boarding enemy ships and battling against enemy crew, and most of all, being able to capture the ships afterward and loot the items stored within their hulls. While the Game does have some extensive amount of crafting, I think most people will not be too enthusiastic about the crafting.

GAMEPLAY

Game Mechanics are mostly present during battles only, at this point in time. The Game UI is in the process of being changed to become more user friendly and visually appealing, but currently the vast majority of complaints about the game are about this User Interface. Icons for items consist purely of text instead of a graphical representation, for example. Buttons don't appear to pop out when hovering the mouse cursor over them, nor appear to push in when clicked on, which makes the UI feel as if it were made prior to the 21st Century, however a valid counter argument could be to say that the deprecation of the UI matches the deprecation of the ships in the Game. Either way, we know that a new user interface is on its way.

FUTURE

While most multiplayer games on Steam are hosted by players or dedicated private servers, Naval Action is an MMO hosted by the Developing Team. This means that your progress in the Game will be safe and should ensure the long term future survival of the Game. Public servers are also a great way to enjoy the game without 3rd party modifications and without allowing widespread abuse and easy access of Endgame Content by private hosts.

The Game is actively updated years after release, giving a sense of developer support for the Game's projected future.
