A weird and wild ride but its worth it, I'd recommend this game regardless of if you usually like horror games or even card games.

TL;DR Good game just not as good as RE4

Pros:
- Story is Decent
- Gameplay follows from RE4
- Co-op (/w Online play)
- AI partner is good so you can play solo with no problems
- Extra story content that explains some of the gaps between RE4 and RE5

Cons:
- Inventory system not as good as RE4
- Story is much shorter than RE4
- Story gap between RE4 - RE5 is explained via lots of written files (that you have to read in the menus rather than in the actual game)

Great game enjoyed it a lot, some of the later boss fights can be challenging but rewarding once you get past them. Enjoyed the story was a nice insight into the beginnings of the RE Series.

If you have played previous dead rising games and liked them then you are likely going to be 'happy' with this game. I didn't find this game as enjoyable as the first game or even the second however it is still a decent game overall and still keeps most of what makes a dead rising game enjoyable. (Although if you are looking to play this game for the story I wouldn't recommend picking it up).

To those that are looking for a zombie game haven't played previous dead rising games I'd say go pick up the first or second game as you're likely to have a better time with those. (And they are cheaper)

All In all I enjoyed the experiance of DR2:OTR It was a nice spin on the original campaign of dead rising 2 and added a few features here and there and enough little twists so that you could get enjoyment out of it. However I would say that unless you are quite a big fan of the dead rising series you will probably want to give it a miss, as you aren't missing any story of the dead rising universe (As the game is non-canon and none of the events in the game are carried over in dead rising 3 or 4) and it is fairly similar to dead rising 2 gameplay wise.

Pros:
- New sandbox mode is what sandbox mode should of been a long time ago, includes challenges which are actually challenges and force you to find combo weapons and magazines that are capable of completing the challenge.
- 'Sleeper' zombies although a pain in the ass one when one kills you right before saving are a cool addition to keep you on the edge, although they could of been fleshed out a little more.

Cons:
- The games PC Settings as with Dead rising 2 are beyond awful and half of them do not function as intented.
- The game experiances frequent crashes in multiplayer (Although singleplayer seems to be mostly unaffected)
- You now have 'checkpoint' saves which save when you enter a new area, although these are a helping hand and make the game easier I think it takes away from the whole having to go to a restroom to save.

TD;LR: Decent game but would only recommend it to the hardcore fans of the series.

If you've played the first game and want more of the same sort of thing then this game is more than perfect for you. Dead rising 2 has a lot of the same features and mechanics as the first game but also builds on them by adding combo weapons and the store system. However if you are looking for something that's a large leap from the first game I don't think you'll see this game as enough of an evolution.
(Oh and if you haven't played a dead rising game before and love zombies and bashing their heads in I'm sure you'll like it)

Pros:
- Keeps true to many of the features of the first game.
- Builds on these features with the Store and combo weapons.
- A Large amount of survivors and side quests like the first game.

Cons:
- At the time of writing this the TIR Online mode is mostly inactive (26/07/2018)
- Some of the psychopath encounters feel a bit more rushed than the first game.
- Co-op and TIR when available have had numerous issues since the transition to steam-works.

TD;LR
The game is a pretty solid zombie game and is well worth the money in my opinion as long as it is what you're looking for.

Quick Summary:
--------------
Alright, game is pretty good if you like zombie games. Dead rising is a mix of a semi-serious story with quite a bit of comedy to offset it. If you are looking for an extremely deep story with compelling characters this game isn't for you, the story is good its just not anything amazing. The real great part of this game is its gameplay allowing you to equip almost anything in the mall and the fact it has good replay value through different endings. Also keep in mind this game was originally released in 2006 and thus the texture equality and model quality of course isn't going to be outstanding.

Pros:
--------------
- Good 'Timer' mechanic giving you a sense of pressure in a apocalyptic setting.
- Allows you to pick up almost every item around you to use it as a weapon.
- Multiple endings.
- Lots of characters to interact with / fight with.
- psychopath system gives you insight into the lives of those in the mall.
- Comedy 10/10
- From my experience it seems that the game is a lot less buggy than its 360 version.

Cons:
--------------
- Survivor AI is beyond awful , they will often stop following you or get stuck.
- Psychopaths are often very easy to defeat after reaching a certain level in the game.
- The main game path doesn't change too much through playthroughs aside from the ending.

TD;LR - If you like zombie games and don't care about story too much go for it. If you are looking for a deep story maybe give this one a pass.

I highly recommend this game to pretty much anyone its really insightful for a person and for someone becoming a game developer , If you have an hour or two spare and don't mind games with zero to no actual gameplay (Like fighting or combat or whatever) then play it.

(I can't say much for the game as I think you have to play it to get an idea for what its about)
