I am shocked at how good this fanmade HL2 mod is. It is close to Valve level of quality and fits in really well into the half life canon, a very fun time

do not judge a book by its cover

this game is disgustingly good

EDIT: This game became kind of boring once I figured out the best strat to get to the end is, now I just feel like the challenge is just getting all the achievements.

I hope the developer can add more viable ways to play in the future.

yea its pretty cool

runs around 90fps on a 4070ti at Ultra settings 1440p native with DLSS balanced mode with frame generation, super cool and impressive thing NVIDIA has done here.

EDIT: not sure if installing the 5800x3D or a windows reinstall made a difference or there was a recent patch, but it seems to be running better around 100fps avg on most test chambers (with FG), and some textures that were glitched like the elevator screen are high res again

Portal is probably one of the most perfect games they could have done this remix to, it's a perfect sandbox using the portals to just mess around and see how they interact with the environment. The lighting is gorgeous and it's awesome to go around the game and just mess around and look at everything.

Notes on frame generation: The input latency was definitely noticeable first turning it on, but after 5 minutes for this kind of game you just forget about it.

If you're on a 4000 series card I cannot stress this enough to remember to turn on GPU scheduling in your windows graphics settings, I actually played through the game once without frame generation, it was playable but FG makes it so so so much better.

The FG option in the remix menu doesn't even appear without this setting on, so make sure to turn it on. It says DLSS 3 in the remix menu this is not frame generation, it's its own option.

The scale of the game is what really makes it special and stands out in the world of factory building games.

The goal is to build a dyson sphere around the sun and capture all the energy from it. Then travel to other star systems and repeat. You do this by gathering resources, making production lines, generating energy, researching technology, travelling to other planets in the solar system to get new resources not on your starting planet, etc.

I had a quite a wow moment when I got my first railgun up and running and started launching solar sails into orbit around the star to build a dyson swarm (a precursor to a dyson sphere, made up out of a bunch of satellites.)

It was a really awesome sight to see, and a sense of scale that I've never experienced in another game before, closest thing would maybe be Planetary Annihilation but the scale feels much larger and impactful in this game.

The visuals do an amazing job of portraying these powerful guns shooting these satellites into orbit. I did wish they had a sound when they fired though, but I'm guessing it was left out because it'd get annoying?

There's still lots to do after this point in the game, like actually building a dyson sphere, researching advanced technologies, fully colonizing other planets and solar system, and eventually travelling to other star systems to capture more energy.

The music is pretty good, but could use more tracks. This games still in development so there still features coming out. I only ever encountered one bug that didn't let me open the pause menu, but I fixed it quickly with a google search.

Tutorial and documentation can be kind of confusing, or poorly worded at times. I believe its a Chinese developer and I guess they need to find a better copywriter.

Overall, I'm definitely going to continue playing this and would 100% recommend to anyone who likes the factory genre and is a fan of futuristic sci-fi.
