Republic Commando is a fantastic tactical Star Wars FPS game. Players take the role of Delta Squad's "Boss" and are given the ability to control squadmates with a variety of context-sensitive commands like forming up, manning turrets, and even setting up anti-vehicle artillery positions. The game's story pleasantly meshes with the core gameplay, providing an authentic Star Wars experience from the perspective of these elite Republic soldiers. If you're a Star Wars fan, you'll appreciate this game. If you're not, well, there are other, more modern tactical shooters out there, but one thing's for sure: even today, this game aged well (in my humble opinion). Just don't expect working multiplayer. I thoroughly enjoyed partaking in Delta Squad's various missions, chuckled at the bits of humor here and there, and soaked up the accompanying story. It's a real shame the sequel was canceled...
