I could never finish it.

Game starts off amazing, but then falls flat really fast with gameplay of metro that was never suited for open world.

In addition story is both good and bad. As a standalone, it has really good story, as a metro game: Awful. I get its based on metro 2035, but I just can't recommend it. If you've played metro 2033 and last light: I don't think this game is gonna make experience better, in fact it can destroy what previous games have built just in opening minutes of it.

If you've never played these games however, go and do.

Metro exodus is still a GOOD game... however its a awful metro that falls flat really fast, in both, gameplay and story. I was so pumped to play this game, opening levels in moscow were awesome, volga was climatic as hell, then yamantau was pretty alright, felt simmilar to old metros, and caspian is where it falls flat and I have completely no motivation to play anymore. Then taiga was a complete chore to play through and I just couldn't attempt to try and finish it by this point. And I tried to replay the game nearly 3 times now. And since I got it in pre-order, I had 1 year ahead of people to do so. I just can't recommend it for fans of metro series.

Life is Strange 2

In 2015, Dontnod showcased to the world Life is Strange, a new "Telltale-like" game in which we play as Max, a young teen that just started Academy in Arcadia bay she used to live in. We find out that she has superpowers to manipulate the time, which she uses to save her best old friend: Chloe. People very quickly got found of the characters of the first game, worshipping them to this day. However, Life is Strange 2 despite what community says, offers more impactful choices, deeper story and wider variety of situations, which in my eyes, portrays is as a BETTER game than Life is strange 1... which is why this review might appear controversial. As always, beware of spoilers.

For the first time in life is strange, I can say that choices DO matter. In life is strange 1 your choices were very binary. You either make a good, or bad decision. This led to binary reactions that rarely impacted bigger image (one of these rare situations was Katie and whether she commits suicide or no . Life is strange 1 was pretty predictable for outcomes of the conversation. Say mean thing, get mean reaction. Life is strange 2 however, offers more natural and unpredictable interactions. You are given a choice of answers, and usually they aren't straight forward "good" or "bad". Its up to the players interpretation what is good and bad. For the most part, I wasn't left out thinking "those options are so limited, I would have said that differently if I were Sean" because you do get a variety of answers, that fits your world view. The outcomes usually aren't as binary either. That is true, choices FEEL less impactful compared to LiS binary actions, just because we don't get binary reactions. All the things we do are playing role in a bigger scheme, it changes how we raise Daniel, and what values WE put to be most important. More about that later. The point is, choices in life is strange 2 actually feel like they impact the world around us, the people around us, and none of the things we say are portrayed either "good" or "bad" by the game. It is us who chose to do so...

Writing sucks- That is the sentence I heard quite often when someone was referencing this game. I remember before playing 4th episode I checked out reviews for it, and they were mostly negative with majority of people telling just that: writing sucks. I went into the episode expecting a cluster ♥♥♥♥ of a writing, dumb decisions and awful outcomes. It really did make me scared of the experience, considering how good previous episodes were (especially 2 and 3). What I got instead was a really damn interesting episode, that included choices that DID matter, a lot, especially on the ending (which people often don't realize), story that I cared about, and great character development. Yes, I agree that Daniel being so indoctrinated into the cult was a really odd trope for me, but once I accepted it it played pretty well into the narrative of the episode .

And while we are on the topic of endings... I think that endings to Life is strange 2 are masterful, and an improvement over Life is strange one's by a mile. They do everything that 1 didn't. After a long journey, dozen of people we met, dozen of places we were, we always had a goal: reach the next checkpoint, either grandparents, haven point or simply get away as far as possible. We always had someone to come to: either people at the camp that could help us, or our mom. The ending to this game is masterful, because we are for the first time put alone: Only Sean and Daniel, they have nowhere else to go, no one to run to. Just they both surrounded by the police. The hopelessness of this situation, as both brothers try not to break down sitting alone in the car, just couple of meters away from the goal they thrived for for nearly a year was... stunning to me. That is where decisions we made during our journey come to play. Unlike life is strange 1, we don't have only 2 endings that are exactly good or bad. Depending on how we, as an older brother raised Daniel, will get a different ending. There is only one ending which is deliberately bad, and its the one where Sean dies. It happens when we raised Daniel to be a rebel, but try to do the right choice at the end . All of the endings are left up to interpretations of one. The good ending that I went for (without knowing what the others are) could be interpreted as a bad one for a person that puts different values into play. I raised Daniel to be a good man. To use his powers wisely and responsibly, and to remember where we came from: What dad would want us to see. By the time of the ending, I bonded with Daniel so much, that I saw only one option left for him to have... a normal life. And that is to surrender. To sacrifice my life for him to be a kid again. A normal kid. Others would say that raising him as a rebel and crossing the border to become outlaws, villains is good ending because they stay brothers, they never get separated and they learn how to live on their own in harsh lands of Mexico. Or for others its the ending where only Sean gets to Mexico and Daniel stays, that way Sean keeps his freedom as a person and Daniel gets normal childhood... but is being separated forever really that good? And is Sean truly free, or is he just hiding away from inevitable? . Those ending are up to your interpretations. What I loved about them is again: none of them are telling you that they are good or bad. The outcome of your final decision will depend on what you did throughout the whole game. You might think that decisions didn't really play a huge role until you see the other endings. Even such a small thing as Layla visiting you after Sean leaves prison or doesn't depending on one decision in first episode is what made a great impression to me.. Unlike decisions in life is strange 1, no ending leaves you with the feeling "so... what was all that for?". In one you either go back in time and let Chloe die, which makes all decisions you made during the game only apply to max, or you wipe out Arcadia bay which... denies any choices you made for these characters during the game. They die, no matter what you did for the whole game. Life is strange 2 isn't like that. Even the ending where you surrender to the police, you might not get to the goal of your journey, but what you experienced and learned stays with you and Daniel. . And that, in my opinion is masterful. It really did leave me wonder at the end of the game "but what if...". Every ending is good and bad at the same time, which in my eyes only add to the tragedy of the Sean and Daniel's story...

Now that I touched on story, I will quickly go over everything else. Graphically, stepping from Unreal engine 3 to 4 was an excellent choice. This games art style looks beautiful. Same goes for this teen/punk art direction. It fits to the game great. Environments are just made to make screenshots of. A lot of scenes looks very filmic and cinematic, which fits into the game well... what is rather poorly done however are face animations. Lips aren't always perfectly synced, and as a whole animations look rather... wooden. Music is another thing that gives me chills, its a great life is strange style, and fits into the game, thought I feel like 1 had much better music direction (with indie/post rock). That fit the game very well. Gameplay is something very expectable from life is strange. You don't really have any new revelations here. One thing to mention might be split second decisions in stressful situations game puts you in. You don't have ability to get back in time, so that pressures you even more.

Life is strange 2 was a masterful experience, a great improvement over its predecessor, and something I will remember and recommend for a long time... Keep on howling ❤️

Really surprisingly good game. Its short and rather simple, but can often be challanging, and with its difficulity levels it adds to the replayability. Really good game, would definitely give it a shot! Its crazy, its violent, and it has: bananas

Mafia 3 is probably my biggest surprise when it comes to the games I played in 2018. I picked it up having very low expectations, and preparing myself to abandon the game of boredom and frustration, but what happend, was a completly opposite reaction. Before we start a disclaimer: I did NOT play mafia II or I. And maybe thats the reason why I enjoyed the game that I feel is greatly underappreciated...

Mafia 3 puts us in boots of black american soldier that has just came back from vietnam: Lincoln Clay. World that we get to live in is 1968's New Bordeaux- Equivalent of real lifes New Orlean. Upon meeting with our family, and sleeping off we find out that Sammy, our "father" as we might refer to him like (He wasn't related to lincoln by blood, but thats how they treated each other- as father and son) has gotten into troubles with Italian Mafia. We need to deal with Haitian gang that is creating troubles in our district, and pay off debts to Sal Marcano: The leader of Italian mob. In order to settle debts, we prepare a heist on Federal Reserve Bank which ends somewhat successful. When we are handing the money to sal marcano, he betrays us, killing everyone in the bar, including (as he thought) us. After the massacre at sammys bar, we get rescued from the fire by father james, and from there we leave on epic revenge mission to kill sal marcano, and everyone of his family. We find out he wants to build up a casino, and wants to go "legal" which left him very vulnerable being very short on money, needing lots of resources, and trying to convince congressmans to legalize gambling. To do so we find and gather our partners to take over districts: Cassandra, Burke, Fans favourite Vito Scaletta and Donovan. We take district from district, and assign them to each of our underbosses. Each of disctricts is diffrent from each other (belive it or not).

Strong part in our story creates world we live in. The game is full of racism, lets get this straight out of the way. You can see black discrimination everywhere, prior to the era the game is set in. Just as the game states on the beggining, it would be insulting NOT to include that part of the history, and imo it does it very well. The contrast between black hollow that is a poor district full of wooden shacks, or poorly structured houses, compared to white neighbourhoods like frisco fields. It creates a great contrast that is very hard hitting. You can see diffrences between those zones in the way people react to you, talk to you, or even police radio (If something happens in black disctrict police "can go and check it out if they want" but if same crime happens in white district police "has to investigate this immidiately". Combined with music, events, radio news from all over america, and the vietnam war it creates very immersive image of new bordeaux. The game is brutal, bloody, and isnt afraid to explore controversial topics (like KKK) and expose shameful part of USA's history.

When it comes down to graphics in mafia 3, it is one of more controversial topics. Word that very well summarizes Mafia 3's graphics is "Dated". And oh boy, was it a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the release of the game. I was lucky enough to play the game nearly 2 years after its release, but that doesn't mean the game didn't have problems back then. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up optimalization, weird brown filter, glow and blur made this game look bad. Really bad. Right now I can say that this game looks... ok? You can check my screenshots and see for yourself that in moments this game can looks stunning. Colors are now much more vibrant and clear, but the game has a weird blur, which makes it look like its 720p upscaled to 1080p. There is a mod that fixes it, and makes the game more sharp, but it disables steam overlay, so ability to make screenshots (a no no for me). Right now game looks okayish. When it comes to optimalization its rather okay aswell (60 fps for the most part on mine 1060 6gb, altough it tends to drop, a lot and often. Never below 30 fps tough, and as a game that was designed for 30fps (console port) it is pretty playable that way). Textures are trash- They are low resolution, they are blurred as hell. They look worse than 500x500px. Lightning is doing a great job to make the game look decent (But it also has its fail moments here and there), and particle effects are decent. Overall, 2 years after release game looks and works okay. It barely stands up to 2016 standards (Reminder, in that year uncharted 4, battlefield 1 and watch dogs 2 had its releases). What is really beautiful in this game are character models and facial animations, and with that: Cinematics. Game is filled with very good looking cinematics.

█▀▀▀ █▀▀█ █▀▄▀█ █▀▀ █▀▀█ █░░ █▀▀█ █░░█
█░▀█ █▄▄█ █░▀░█ █▀▀ █░░█ █░░ █▄▄█ █▄▄█
▀▀▀▀ ▀░░▀ ▀░░░▀ ▀▀▀ █▀▀▀ ▀▀▀ ▀░░▀ ▄▄▄█

Lets get this out of the way: the game features 9 zones in which we are doing exactly the same: Get intel about 2 rackets in the zone, kill few people to get the racket boss back to the facility, kill or recruit him to your organization, after getting 2 rackets and and assigning them to underboss you go after district boss, and assign whole district to either of your underbosses. Repeat 9 times with a little twist and you got yourself 70% of mafia 3 gameplay (25% are cinematics). But for some reason: I enjoyed doing it. I heard a lot of complaints from people that the game gets very repetetive, and boring after some time, yet that wasnt the case for me. Each zone felt diffrent, and I felt like I am really hitting sal marcanos buisnesses. Everything I did was somewhat intresting, and I found pleasure in routine, always having a goal: Bringing down this or that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ down. Big part of the gameplay creates decision we make. After succesful takeover of district, we have to assign them to either of underbosses, which gives us diffrent bonuses, weapons, and boosts. We have to watch out tough, if we will give not enough, or no districts to either of bosses (aka ignore them) they will get frustrated, which might lead to them rebelling and us: killing them, giving us a diffrent ending. To keep all underbosses alive, its as simple as it can get: Each boss just needs to have 3 zones (out of 9) so they are all equal. Just give zones as me: Vito, cassandra, burke, vito, cassandra, burke. And they all will be happy What I really liked about mafia 3 was its ammo management and vehicle physics. Starting off the game we have very limited ammo forcing us to run around, picking up weapons of killed enemies. We really need to save up some money for upgrages to ammo, accuracy, damage, etc. I have never felt so much joy in killing 5 enemies in 5 shots (thanks to bullettime present in game) and nobody noticing. Game does not encourage your playstyle: You chose how you go, rambo with m60, or stealth with knife or pistol (when you get silenced pistol stealth becommes OP). Another thing is driving which feels really good. Cars have weight, they slide like on butter, and crashing even into traffic have its "power".

▄▀ ▄▀▄ █▄░█ ▄▀ █░░ █░█ ▄▀▀ ▀ ▄▀▄ █▄░█

░▀ ░▀░ ▀░░▀ ░▀ ▀▀▀ ░▀░ ▀▀░ ▀ ░▀

I was really surprised by mafia 3. From everything I saw and heard about the game I always felt like its not game for me. Like its just another crappy made AAA game. What I got instead is a great game, with its flaws, that I really enjoyed. From music, to story, to gameplay. I would honestly recommend you this game. Just give it another try, and you might get surprised

I give mafia 3 whole n-word out of a redneck rating
