had to quit because the game was too easy, i can just run and gun brainlessly. i didnt buy this game for the story because i knew it was going to be another hideo kojima absurdityfest where his fans pick up the scattered pieces of his schizophrenic writings and piece them together to form their next religious text, glad he got fired from konami because that one mobile game developer made more money than his medicore games

pretentious developer with a pretentious audience

boring, tried playing multiple times over a few years and it is just boring, nice to look at but besides that it feels like you do nothing except warp from place to place getting a few more credits every time transporting stuff, its like euro truck simulator if the slightest bit of skill that game had was removed and the setting was space.

decent game, story is above average to good compared to the average singleplayer game but still forgettable

main reason you play is because of the puzzles and the portal mechanic which is quite unique but the puzzles are usually really easy.

one of the best stories out of any game, the unique structure and gameplay routes to deliver the story make this story only work in game form alone as no other medium has the interactivity required to tell this story . this game sets up expectations just to tear them down and subverts jrpg tropes in a way that makes it like an anti-final fantasy.

best soundtrack of any game by far, i mean the competitors for soundtrack don't even come close to this ost as they are usually just generic edm or electronic music (usually forgotten a few days after you listen to their samey beep boop soundtracks or cringe vocals with angsty 14 year old tier lyrics).

average at best combat, straight up boring or unfun at worst, don't play this game if you want combat.
majority of sidequests are boring, i played them all and only like 8 are good and the rest are tedious or boring fetch quests.

trash pc port too despite fanboys in comments somehow defending the fact that a game needs to be fps locked in nvidia control panel as framerate is tied to speed ???? how delusional are you to defend that

despite this, game is carried by the soundtrack and story and because of the two puts this game in my favourite games of all time, most favourite as a story game / singleplayer game, as combat / gameplay are serviceable enough to allow the ost and story to shine, if i wanted gameplay i would just play a multiplayer game for some good combat instead of fighting ai npcs.

best singleplayer game

this game is so boring it actually disgusts me thinking about this game because it feels even worse than watching paint dry. The day after I revisited this game I went to my garage and stared at the concrete floor for an hour where I was following the cracks and imagining them moving which provided me more entertainment than this game ever did in its monotonous gameplay. (Actually true story)

they thought having flashy lights would give it the stimulation required to have entertaining combat but the only thing the combat stimulated was the desire for me to pass out because of the strong, near ketamine like, tranquilizer effect this game had put on me. The enemies just eat bullets and have next to no reaction when shot, it is like I am firing at a paper cutout on the wall, in fact I would probably get more reaction from the paper flying around after it gets shot.

If you want to buy this game, don't, do something productive with your life instead of wasting your time in this endless repetitive time sink. I can only assume that the positive reviews are from people who have the greatest case of Stockholm Syndrome documented in human history or have had their dopamine receptors completely fried so that the concept of "fun" completely escapes them.

cardboard swords, no replay value empty, cold, lifeless world, all builds end up as stealth archer, buggy, needs mods to be even average, bland races, lack of enemy variety, overall soulless husk of an rpg 3/10
