An outstanding game that competes with all other FPS titles on both a gameplay level and price-wise. The amount of content you get for 10$ is absurd, and I would play this game over many other triple A titles out there. Essentially one of the first games to EFFECTIVELY implement PIP scopes using the power of Source engine black magic. PVE matches are incredibly intense experiences.

Edit: holds a lot over the sequel Insurgency: Sandstorm and I still prefer this game a lot of the time. It's cheaper, runs better, and feels better. Oh yeah, and they don't have skins, a recent addition to the "improved" sequel.

tl;dr: Pay to win, bad graphics, bland grindy gameplay, external launcher.

The graphics are awful (Just look into their soulless eyes..), the combat is bland, the grind is unbelievable, and the game is completely pay to win; skill is optional. Even if you were skilled, occasional rubber banding and lag abusers will ruin your experience.

The playerbase is slowly dying and now largely consists of Brazilions joining US servers (Thank god they disable voice chat.) and largely consists of "whales" who have dropped a lot of cash on the game.

The game no longer directly installs from steam, but rather from some generic launcher that establishes connections to multiple russian-based companies.
