This is a dissapointment when compared to Orcs Must Die 1 and 2.

Bad Decisions:
- Timer on purely PvE modes that counts down even when nobody is ready. On a first time playing a new map, my friends and I take a long time to look through the map and strategize. But even when none of us have readied up, the timer will still tick down. This makes no sense in PvE modes.
- Grindy F2P Model. This is fine if it was on cosmetics and heroes only, but OMD!U forced traps behind paywalls/loot chests. This is an incredibly bad decision as players cannot choose from a variety of traps anymore, and are forced through the luck of getting them through loot chests.
- Trap Upgrade System. Traps are now upgraded through, yep, more loot chests/paywalls. This is literally pay to win.
- Game focus on MOBA rather than being a Tower Defense. If you look all the new heroes, a lot of them aren't focused on traps at all. Most of them focus on combat, and in no way helps with the tower defense, PvE aspects.
- Game Lobby detached from actual game. The game lobby is a window separate from the game. When you finish a map, you are booted off the game. This makes it so that restarting a map is impossible without turning off the game and restarting it from the game lobby. Who thought this was a good idea? If I want to 5-star a map, and I let one runner slip into the rift, now I have to exit the game, go into the game lobby, and reload it, taking almost 2 minutes. None of the previous iterations of this game had this problem.
- Barricades being nerfed. This was the final straw for me. On certain maps that have multiple enemy spawns, it is impossible to block off the main path, forcing enemies to an off-path, even though there is clearly a way for them to. Idiotically, the pathfinding is not strong enough, or is purposely made to not detect these paths, and blocking the path becomes impossible. So much for letting people strategize. Barricades are already extremely expensive, and can be destroyed by enemies. Rather than blocking the best part of your game, i.e. letting player strategize, you designers opted to take the lazy way out. It would've been easy to make barricades not the best options, such as having bombers that blows up barricades. This design choice tells me that the designers were definitely NOT, in ANY way, looking to create a good, PvE experience that would hold a candle to the previous iterations.

TL:DR
-Bad game design choices that stunts strategy for MOBA heroes design.
-Poorly made game lobby system
-Grindy F2P Model
-Worse than Orcs Must Die 2.

Spiral Knights has very solid game mechanics, and is genuinely great fun to play. Very well designed levels and focuses on mastery of game mechanics, rather than your stats.

Unfortunately, the publisher and the developers are intent on pushing only visual updates in order to make money off of whales. No new updates have been pushed out for ages. When the game was passed to Sega, the new developers did not understand what makes the mechanics of the game work. The last nail in the coffin is when they sectioned off the new storyline and new maps as DLC, requiring people to pay. Splitting up the community, and making the game just as stale as before.

Great potential, but developers and publishers have failed due to neglect and apathy.

I have mixed feelings about this game, but have to lean on the negative. I've personally beaten every boss except the final boss (The Soul).

Starting off, the biggest problem with the PC version is no mouse support. This is already a hard game, and with keyboard only, you can only shoot in 8 directions (I still got to where I did though).

Certain bosses are fun and creative, and it is very rewarding to figure out how to beat them, and executing the technique. But some bosses are no fun at all as their weak spot appears too randomly, so your beating them is based largely on luck. Most bosses are passable in this aspect, but the worst offender is the final boss, which has an erratic weakspot that randomly spawns and despawns. Even if I can survive that boss fight for 10 minutes straight, there was no way I could hit the weak spot unless I was extremely lucky for it to spawn in one of the 8 directions and I had my arrow on.

Another problem is that some of the bosses feel cheap. Their AI is not well done because their attacks aren't natural. For example, the Golem with fists will home on you perfectly, even if you quickly change directions. It just makes it feel weird as a huge golem's fist shouldn't be able to predict precisely where you're moving. When you see how well each attack homes onto you, it starts to feel unnatural, and makes the bosses feel one note.

For a game that is ONLY bosses, the AI of each boss needs to not just be perfect, but FEEL perfect. They can be extremely difficult and frustrating, but it needs to FEEL that the AI attacks are natural. Because of these facts, I can't recommend this game, which is a shame as its art is gorgeous and its premise is great, and a lot of the bosses are actually very well designed.

Blood of the Werewolf is cheesey and difficult. It is a platformer that pays homage to the hardcore SNES titles like Goblins and Ghouls, Castlevania 1 and 2, complete with wave pattern bats, knockback on hit, tons of 1-hit kill deaths, cheap enemy placements, etc.

And it's good.

Not that it's great. It has hitboxes as fat and unpredictable as your mom, and areas of the games that felt needed touching up on. The voice acting is hit or miss badly, and the story is... blech. That being said, this game is very well polished, with great art style and visuals. The levels are well designed, with good pacing and rising challenge. Yes, it gets frustrating at times, especially near the end, but it doesn't feel unfair. There are certain sections that you WILL get stuck on, but it feels good to complete it, and very few platformers nowadays can give you this challenge.

In the end, I liked it. Nothing new or exciting, but just a really fun, experience with well polished graphics and levels, and a tribute to old platformers.

What I expected was a fun FPS game with a very good swordplay mechanic built in.
What suprised me is everything else. The graphics, the voice acting, the storyline, the boss fights... everything that one may think not much attention is given to is actually one of the game's greatest feature.

Great PC Optimization and awesome combat and cutscenes. This is a game that keeps on giving.
Admittedly, there are some problems. The sword is too powerful and makes the myriads of guns in this game barely usable. Some levels are rehashed and is confusing to find which door, lever, or button to find in order to progress. And there isn't a whole lot of enemy variety.

But damn, for a game that came out of nowhere, did it deliver. Just look at some of the screenshots, and take a sneak peek at the bosses and you'll know what I'm talking about. It is a very visceral game with huge thematic environments and a touching story with a good sense of humor. I can go on with these run-on sentences, so tl;dr: this is a gem that you should not miss!

You know that time when you had sex with this crazy hot girl who's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid and probably will become a hooker? You'd still pick her over the other smarter, more dependable girls time and time again because of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good time you two had.

This game, and its Mod, is like that hot girl. Unsubstantial, but bloody brilliant fun.

Bad PC Port with Worse Controls.
The camera always fights you, and the controls are extremely twitchy and weird on the Keyboard and Mouse.
I can only recommend this to die hard fans (which is why I bought it :C)

Ashes to ashes, Dust to dust.
A Beautifully hand-drawn game with excellent visuals and an Adventure vibe that I don't get a lot anymore from other games.
The combat system is solid, and the storyline, the characters, are good. They aren't excellent, but the loveliness of the game makes up for it.
One gripe that I have is the spammy nature of the combat systems (specifically the projectile). Still, I highly recommend this game for its visual appeal, and solid experience everywhere else.

Precision Platforming with good ideas and themes, but falls completely flat on level design.
The game is challenging, but in an unsatisfactory way, as later levels simply throw random junk at you, with spikes everywhere and extremely annoying enemies that dash horizontally at you. The difficulty spikes at different areas of a level, making it feel incoherent, and hazards become extremely spammy later on. Rather than designing the level to be interesting, the level just becomes a cluster♥♥♥♥.

One of the best feature of this game is that you save a checkpoint simply by standing still at an area with no saws/spikes. This is an ingenious idea! However, the level design does not incorporate this mechanic very well. For example, in the end of a level, there is an area entirely filled with saws inside the ground "just" so you can't save. This is bad level design as the rest of the level has nothing like this, and it also throws away the one thing that is unique about this game.

There are much better precision platformers out there, such as Super Meatboy, Cave Story, and Super House of Dead Ninja. Give this one a pass.
