Wow, I typically take steam reviews with a grain of salt. Picked this up with the Summer sale, even got the "Ultimate Stunt Edition". I played half an hour and boy am I dissapointed. Bought this hoping from some nostalgia of Hot Wheels Turbo Racing and Stunt Track Driver. But man this is worse than the mobile Hot Wheel Unlimited. $50 (full price base game) with a season pass system that has purchasable "upgrade" for more unlocks than just the standard season pass, a free season pass with goals for unlocks isnt a big deal to me, its having a upgrade is what bothers me. aside from that, there is now in total 54 DLCs for this game ($147 in DLC at time of writing during summer sale, in under a year this game has been out), granted the Passes do include some of the other DLCs, but when each of those passes cost $30 and the Ultimate edition only includes 2 of them, and there seems to be word that there is going to be another, it is very disappointing. Beyond all the cash grab, Driving controls feel mediocre and sometimes unresponsive. the graphics even on Ultra with DLSS on seem very pixleated at times. Frame rate seems to struggle to go above 60fps even when frame rate is unlocked. Sadly, this is just very blatant cash grab with the Hot Wheels branding to try and target either young gamers, people looking for some nostalgia of the old HW games (like myself), or the crazy hardcore obsessed Hot Wheels people. I would give this game a few years till they stop updating it and pick up a whole bundle on sale. Or just avoide this for all eternity.

Only worth it if you can get it on sale. $10 for 5 assets in game. The original soundtrack and art book buried in the files? I mean I suppose that's worth it if you are into those things.

If you like never being able to connect to the EA servers and when you do get into a game the connection lag is so bad it almost crashes your game, then this is for you. None of these issues were present until it came out on Steam, could be a coincidence.

It's animated wallpapers, with out all the viruses of yesteryears.

Also "play time" is strange, I believe it only tracks when the program window is open when looking at the workshop, changing wallpapers or using the editor. I have this set up to automatically run my wallpapers when my PC starts so I probably have several thousand hours of usage time

If you like staring at a map and more or less micromanaging this game is for you. Very boring and I barely got through the Tutorial before I wanted slap myself with my keyboard. Not my taste, but I am sure there is an audience for it. would work well as a browser or mobile game.

Game of the Year 2016

You get to throw British insults at friends and strangers, and laugh harder than any session of Cards Against Humanity.

Plus you get to play as Lo Wang AND fight "God"

11/10 would Insult Gods family again.

Update: Still the best Indie game 2016, now with steam cards and Serious Sam, this gem just gets better.

I don't normally write reviews, but with all the nasty reviews in the first half hour this game came out, i feel obligated to write this. Amazing game, stunningly beautiful. I am unsure why so many people are having FPS issues and crashing problems. I have had none of these so far. A few minor stutters here and there but other than that very smooth. travel times are all real time so If you crusing through the galaxy at standard speed and a planet says 2 hours for arrival... its gonna be two hours. utilizes the speed boost and enjoy the endless exploration, for the small file size this game has its very expansive by the looks of it. With no multiplayer at the moment I would not call this a $60 title, but it is alot of fun.

My PC specs:
GeForce GTX 980 Classified 4gb
Intel i7 4790k 4GHz
8gb of DDR3 RAM
MSI Z97 Gaming 5 mobo

i have no idea how some of these reviews that claim they have a 1080 are having graphical issues
