Great game, however, it doesn't give that same dread or atmosphere from DS 1.

Pros:
+The combat feels great. Weapon arts allow for interesting and flashy techniques.
+The characters are all interesting, and there's a lot more interaction(Sometimes they'll fight alongside you in the world and not just when you summon them, some will leave signs that allow you to travel to their world and help them, etc)
+The world is beautiful, lots of detail everywhere.

Cons:
-Too many bonfires and wobbly enemies that get stun-locked by a light breeze keeps this game from really feeling hard. This feels like an easy mode for DS 1, which doesn't do any favors for the atmosphere these games try to have.
-The covenant system is laughably broken. It can take 30+ minutes for you to be summoned if your a Blue Bro at 40+ soul level. And thats supposedly the best soul level for getting Blue Bro summoned. The only ones that seem to work as intended are Sunlight Warriors and any invasion based ones, not including Aldrich Faithful and Farron Watchdogs.
-This might be a bit of a personal issue, but I don't like all the fan service. This game kinda just wallows around, shoving different things in your face. "Hey, remember Solaire? Or how about Trusty Patches? Oh, I heard you like Siegmeier!"

Small Things That I'll Still Mention(Skip if you want)
# I don't like how you can't upgrade armor. And I'm not just talking about standard upgrades, It would've been cool to have infusions that increase certain damage resistances, or maybe make you more manuverable.

IF YOU JUST WANT A FUN SHOOTER SET IN AN APOCALYPTIC ENVIRONMENT WITH SANDBOX ELEMENTS, GO AHEAD AND GET THIS, BUT IF YOU WANT A FALLOUT GAME, AVOID THIS ONE.

Bethesda's pretty much forgotten Fallout was supposed to be a roleplaying series. Think of the Fallout games that Obsidian made: in all of them, you get very little details about the characters you play is. In the first one, your some guy who lives in a vault. In two, you live in a village. In New Vegas, you got shot in the head and brought back to life. It allows you to fill in the rest of the blanks yourself. In 4, your told who your spouse is, who your child is, what you do as a job, where you live, your motivations, etc. And that's just the tip of the ice berg. How about how your conversations are limited to four options on a vague, bioware dialogue wheel that could make you accidently say things you didn't mean to say? Or the fact that your character is voice acted? Yeah, have fun trying to RP as Mr.T, voiced by a white guy most likely named Eric.

tl;dr: Just buy Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition.

My only problem with this game is the lack of any side quests or activities. The only activity in the game besides the main storyline is stealing and selling cars. It kind of ruins the whole point of an open world when there's barely anything to do in it. Other then that though, everything in this game is near perfect. More people need to play this.

I feel like Borderlands 2 is just one of those games that sooner or later just appears in your library. Or at least, it was that type of game for a period of time. I think it still holds up, even in solo play, so if you somehow don't have this game get it on one of the several times it goes on sale. DLC definitely recommended.
