tl;dr 7/10. Super interesting, but not much in terms of gameplay.

Not too long ago, I personally had a thing against any game one would call a "walking sim", especially as someone who sees games as art. After all, part of why it's unique as an artform is the interactivity, the ability to have the player experience something personal. That said, I've been moving past that particular opinion, and this game certainly helped.

The Mooseman offers a delve into the mythology of ancient Russian cultures, allowing you to take part in a story involving Komi folklore. It's a short game, which honestly works in it's favor; it provides everything it needs to in a satisfying way, without excessive fluff or hanging too long in a single part. The gameplay that is here, while occasionally tedious, is fairly good. The main attraction here, atleast for me, is the art involved. This is a very beautiful game, with excellent music. The artstyle is based on ancient bronze statues, and it provides a very unique aesthetic. I'm very happy to have experienced this, and recommend it for anyone else.

TL;DR 9/10. Improves heavily on the last game while keeping the excellent writing.

The first Pathologic took effort for me to play. Even though I was extremely interested, I had to take occasional breaks to finish it. This game, on the other hand, fixes a ton of the clunkiness, polishing the gameplay to replace the old game once and for all. After they finally add the other two playable characters, this game will be a perfect redo of the old.

Personally, my only problem is the random aspects to it. As one would know from the description, this is a game about fighting disease. As such, there's always a chance that patients under your care can randomly catch the sand plague, or those who are infected will have a chance of dying that day. This is regardless of what you do, albeit you can increase their chances of survival by providing care. It's hard to call this a con; it honestly makes sense from a storytelling standpoint, and it's always great when gameplay conveys the story. However, I just had to restart my current 39 hour playthrough because one of the patients that were important to me died, and its because I wasn't doing something from the beginning I didn't realize I should've been doing. Again, not a con as being unprepared is a huge part of the story, and the gameplay conveys that amazingly. Its just a very, very unforgiving aspect of the gameplay that borders on being unfair.(Edit: I should also mention that this game factors in do-overs in the story. Not in an Undertale kinda way where a character will point out that you reset, but that the game actually starts with you failing the game and having someone give you another chance to do it all again. It honestly feels like they intend for you to restart a few times.)

All of that said, that was one paragraph about just a single aspect of this game. Everything else is frankly beautiful, and I completely recommend this game.

TL;DR 6/10. Purely the innovative storytelling that pulls you through it, other than that be prepared to grit through some tough bits.

I have a friend who described this as "like playing a book", and there's honestly very little that could've described it better. Video games are usually expedient, only showing you the important bits of the main character's lives. Books, on the other hand, meander as they try to set the stage for you. Similarly, this game tends to have an issue with meandering as a good portion of the game is simply walking from place to place, and talking to people who use overly flowery language which occasionally will need a couple extra read-overs. This makes the gameplay stale very quickly, even unnecessarily punishing at some points. Especially in combat, which is clunky and much quicker to end with your death than the death of your opponent. Overall, it takes an extremely concerted effort to complete the first of the three playthroughs available.

That said, when I first started this game I could not drop it for a few days straight, and even when I had it kept nagging at me until I finished. Despite the gameplay doing it's best to keep me away, the innovative story kept me motivated to continue, hooking me in ways some games with objectively better gameplay couldn't. While I definitely don't recommend you force yourself to play it, I do think that you should try it. Or better yet, try Pathologic 2, which I am told has vast improvements to gameplay(which makes me pretty happy I finally managed to finish the bachelors story, and I now can move on to the second game). Although I objectively give this game a 6/10, meaning its just above average, the story itself is a 10/10, and it's a shame how far it gets dragged down by the rest of it. Despite it's low grade, it has become one of my all time favorites.

A generally very nice game. The combat is good, tho the enemies tend to be damage sponges. There's a good amount of challenge involved regarding most gameplay aspects that keeps you on your toes. I really like how when you 'die' your actually unconcsious and wake up to a different scenario depending on where you were knocked out(if your in a cave, you might just wake up and crawl your way back to the entrance, but if your in the wilds, bandits might drag you to their camp and hold you prisoner.) I haven't gotten that far yet, this is the kinda game that's almost impossible alone so at least for me being able to enjoy it depends on having someone playing with you.

7/10 PC port, 8/10 if you get the original Xbox version. The character interactions shine the most here.

"Is it red, red, green, or red, green, red?"

"And he's supposed to be the demolitions expert?"

Good action as long as you don't mind the gameplay feeling a little dated. The graphics aren't that good, of course, but I tend to believe the quality of textures isn't as important as how their used, and in that regards this game comes across as very atmospheric, especially in later parts such as Kashyyk and the ghost ship. The aspect that sticks out to me the most is the writing of Delta Squad, your team of commandos. Even game series famous for their characters like Mass Effect can learn a thing or two from the organic character interactions of Delta Squad; they crack jokes at eachother, make comments about eachothers performance, and even coordinate with eachother. It also has a lot to do with their AI, which, although isn't the most advanced, makes the characters believable as a group of elite commandos through their tactical decision making. I'd recommend getting the original Xbox version if you happen to still have an original Xbox, it isn't completely optimized for PC(Nothing too huge, mostly just small things like characters facing the wrong way during events or the AI taking longer than usual to get around a rock they're stuck on).

tl;dr 7/10, if you like Left 4 Dead you'll love this. Only big issue is it getting old after a short while, though having friends to play with definitely helps enjoyment.

I received this as a gift from a friend, though I'm fairly certain that if I had to pay money for this I still wouldn't be disappointed.

To be blunt, this is a slightly improved L4D with a medieval skin. The combat feels a bit better, with more of an emphasis on melee combat(though there are still ranged weapons). The overall look and feel of the game is drowning with atmosphere(mostly due to the excellent soundtrack which is used quite appropriately throughout). If there was one aspect I'd point to as a major improvement, it would be the characters and their abilities. Unlike the L4D series, each of the choosable characters feature unique stats and abilities, making the choice of character more important than purely on the level of cosmetics. However, much like L4D, this game has the issue of becoming stale rather quickly. Unless you have friends who are willing to play with you(which having them increases the longevity of fun you'll have exponentially), then this game will get old real fast.

Oh, and some people were mentioning stuff about dedicated servers, in my personal experience I haven't had any issues at all with connectivity. I'm not saying that there aren't people having these issues, just that I have yet to personally experience anything like that.

ULTIMATE HARDBASS DEFENCE is perfection at it's finest. There are few games out there that exemplify absolute beauty such that this game supplies. Never before will I ever play such an amazing piece of art in my life. I give this a perfect 10/10.

Seriously tho, don't even think about buying this. Me and my friend had fun, but A. most of the fun was provided by ourselves, and B. we don't usually go around playing bad games, so for us this was a reletively new activity. If you want to spend a buck and screw around with an awful asset flipper game, go ahead, but keep in mind that this is part of the whole scheme; most people buy an awful game because it's just a buck, and don't refund because, well, it's just a buck.

tl;dr 8/10, a classic with a well written story and decent to good gameplay. The characters are where this game shines the most.

Also real quick I mostly played the Origin version cause I thought that was the only version I could get DLC on(Which it's not, there's a way to get them on the steam version), in truth I have around 327 hours. I got this version because of steam's garantee you can download your games permanently if they tank.

Playing the Mass Effect series all the way through is sort of an annual traddition of mine. Every time I do, I find new solutions to problems, new conversations, new characters and missions; There's just so much in these games it'll take a while to deplete them of content. It's the second game, however, that I love and reccomend the most.

In this game, you travel around the outer reaches of the galaxy, picking up a merry crew of assassins, thieves, mad scientists... just about every kind of reprehensible being there is, really. All for the goal of fighting an underground war with the mysterious Collecters. The absolute shining pinnacle of this game are the characters, specifically your crewmates. They are interesting to talk to, and all go through in depth character arks through their loyalty missions. Most importantly, they offer a personal connection to the lore of Mass Effect. The youtuber SolePorpoise made an interesting video about this(link at the end of this review), but to put it simply, it connects with you more to hear a bitter alien angrily describing a traumatic event in their past rather then reading about it like you're in history class.

The gameplay's the one thing that keeps this game from a 9/10 for me. Perhaps this a personal issue, but man does the cover based system really slow things down. If you expose yourself for a couple of milliseconds, every gun within a mile radius of you pinpoints your exact location, immediately decimating you with the accuracy of legends. Even playing as a vanguard can only get you so far outside of cover. I'm not saying they should've gotten rid of the cover system, but as an impatient shotgunier who prefers rushing and overwhelming, it would've been nice to have some flexibility or atleast shields that could take more then a slight breeze.

Honestly though, the gameplay is mostly there to carry the story, and it's just fun enough to keep you engaged, the character interactions being ample motivation to continue. Like I said, it's possible to get the DLC on the steam version, and they all come highly reccomended. Although 8/10 is usually on the border of "must have" for me, I still gotta reccomend everyone to have a copy of this game(as well as the rest in the series).

Usually, I don't care that much about personalization for my PC, but honestly I really like this. Not saying this is some amazing software required for all steam accounts, it's just nice to have a program like this for only $4. I've seen those fish-tank screensaver programs run up to $40, and they only do like five different tanks. This, on the other hand, offers hundreds of wallpapers from the getgo, with more coming from the community as time goes on.
