amazing game. nothing like it. one of the few games with crisp mechanics and a long time-to-kill (not cs style one bullet and u instantly die). first fps game for me

i strongly recommend installing ETlegacy (found at etlegacy[dot]com then replacing the executable) then a config since default settings are a bit like tf2 default settings (very poo poo). there are a couple of unintuitive mechanics that i would like to cover in a guide soon

useful commands (if u have vanilla installed) console is opened via tilde key (~):
\r_primitives 2 (if the game is running terribly on modern hardware this is needed)
\com_maxfps 125 (quake 3 engine game so limitations on framerate)
\cg_fov 110 (make fov a teensy bit larger, change number to whatever is nice for u [90 - 130])

ET, being based on quake 3, inherited the ugly "bob roll" effect where ur screen jostles when u move (annoying imho but keep on for the raw experience)

\cg_bobup 0
\cg_bobyaw 0

Other quality of life changes like blood flash and blood splatter can be turned off via:
Settings -> View
