I am a fiend for puzzle games like these! The demo showcases just enough levels to get you excited about the full release coming in late October. Love the graphics, the background music, and the overall aesthetic of Wizard of Wings. Very awesome concept of an escape puzzle game where you free birds from their cage by and uncovering hidden clues and solving puzzles. Can’t wait to give this one a full review after it is released. If you’re into these kinds of games this one is a must try!

Coming from someone who has little to no Warhammer 40k knowledge or experience, I had an awesome time playing through the story and operations in Space Marine 2! I just obtained all achievements after finishing the game this weekend in the early access launch period, and I’m glad to finally have this one done after grinding xp and kills for hours on hours. Space Marine 2 has pretty much three different branches of content; the Main Story Campaign, Operations (PvE), and Eternal War Mode (PvP). For me personally, the campaign was good…not bad but not great. Eternal War has potential but there isn’t a whole lot of variety with 3 maps and 3 game modes at launch….I know in the roadmap there is more planned which is great! The Operations were the highlight of my time with the game. Character customization and class progression feels killer, and I really liked the different difficulties. Visually the game looks amazing, performance wise I did have a few crashes/freezes and some connection issues when connecting to others. Crossplay worked decent during the campaign and operations, but I really wish there was a way to turn on/off cross-play in PvP since I’d love to team up with my brother who plays on his PS5. Overall, the hunt for the grindy achievements like maxing out a class or killing 41k enemies was what fueled my desire to complete this game and it feels great to add this one to the list!

Really enjoyed my journey through this title! Combat feels really great with the stance swapping mechanics. If you like boss fights, this is the game for you, with there being like 90+ for you to conquer. Some more challenging than others, but all are unique and memorable for you to tackle again on your next playthrough in NG+. Everything in this game works well together; the spirts, spells, vessels…all of them made for some really cool variety in gameplay. The ability to change your build on the fly is a huge plus and I loved the chapter-to-chapter format of the story. Animated cutscene story tales were an awesome touch to bring each chapter to a close. Most of all, I loved finding all the hidden areas and questlines along the way, figuring out secret items and bosses that you might not run into without exploring. All of the achievements were fun to go after, collecting all items and defeating every enemy to complete your journal is an awesome feeling to accomplish. This game deserves all the positive feedback it’s receiving and I hope to see DLC/a sequel in the future!

This game is a must buy if you’re a fan of souls-like metroidvanias. The three different difficulties enable you to choose how much hand-holding you want during your playthrough experience. I went through my first playthrough on the harder difficulty and had over 300 deaths, while playing on Story mode my second time through to get the other ending netted me just 5 deaths. This game was made by a solo developer, and its mind blowing how much is in this game. There is a variety of weapons to use, a skill tree that feels impactful, a well-designed map with a ton of beautiful areas, a plethora of NPCs with their own roles in the story, a crazy number of bosses, and two different endings to discover. I did encounter a few of bugs during my two playthroughs, but the dev has already fixed some and is constantly working on eliminating the others to have this game as polished as can be. I’m a huge fan of the art style and the music helps take the game to another level. Two huge positives for me are the combat mechanics and the traversal abilities that make not only fighting enemies’ fun, but dodging all the elemental dangers as well. Had a blast playing this one, definitely going to have to do another run on my Steam Deck now!

This one takes me back to the PS2 era when all of the prequels were releasing. It’s so awesome to revisit this title in remastered form. I am able to complete the full game now that I’m a better gamer, and I can shoot for all the new achievements they added. You literally can’t beat the price. Aiming controls still have that wonky feeling at times, but blasting your way through enemies’ level by level feels even better than before. Originally, I hadn’t made it too far in the game so getting to see the complete story for the first time was awesome. You play as Jango Fett (former Mandalorian warrior) and learn his backstory leading up to his role in Attack of the Clones. Collect bounties, find all secrets, and play through 18 missions (6 chapters) to hunt down Dark Jedi Komari Vosa. There is so much awesome Star Wars lore in this title so if you’re the least bit interested in that then you can’t go wrong with this one. The combat is amazing, music is of course top notch, and the story is one that you’ll never forget.

This game is a work of art. Over my 30 hours and multiple playthroughs on all difficulties, I can whole-heartedly say that this game checks all of the boxes for me; lore with ties to Greek mythology, different playable characters that vastly change how you approach combat and maneuverability, retro style pixel graphics featuring over 50 stages, a crazy amount of unique bosses to conquer, an arcade style gameplay loop with local co-op of up to four people, a killer soundtrack that fits the theme perfectly, and a secret true ending only unlocked after beating the game on hard difficulty. Paying homage to the 80’s and 90’s, this game is inspired by movies, videogames, and fantasy literature from that time period. The Atlantean civilization has angered the gods and they’ve sent hordes of monsters to punish Atlantis by destroying the continent. Four heroes emerge to save the land and shut the Gates of Abathor. Play as Crantor the Barbarian, Sais the Valkyrie, Kritias the Assassin, or Azaes the Warlock. Each has their own unique backstory, and each has their own special skillset. Fight through enemies stage by stage, upgrading your character as you face monsters increasing in difficulty the closer you get to the gate. Going for all achievements will be tough in this one, but I can tell you it is definitely worth the journey.

Taking the role of a young photographer, you set off on a journey following in the footsteps of your absent mother. Experience a brilliant puzzle game with hand-drawn art and an engaging story that may bring a tear to your eye. Mechanics feel polished and the game ran flawlessly. The art style drew me in and the game did not disappoint! A fantastic puzzle game for beginners featuring easy puzzles and the amazing feature to chapter select after going through the story. This helps out tremendously with cleaning up any missed achievements. Voice acting was great and the story was a strong part of the game. Music fit the tone of the game perfectly, and added to the emotional moments. Overall, very happy I played through this one, even if it is a little on the short side. If you’re into these types of games it will be a great addition to your collection.

My point of view may differ from a lot of others, but having just found out about this game a few days ago from the Steam store trailer…I got super hyped for this game. After playing through it for the first time and getting more info on the game for my review, I realized Meifumado is only a piece of what it was envisioned to be. This is a linear, four areas with four bosses, type of game. Not an open world RPG with multiple paths/endings. Old Bit Studio ran into some Kickstarter funds problems and did the best they could with the time given, and I’m just happy they released the game that a lot of people thought would never come. Cut the original price, take out time intensive features like armor sets, forging weapons, finishing moves, NPC questlines, and put together a cool game to play in your free time. By the end of it, I definitely was wanting more because the game feels good, combat and movement feels great. It takes roughly a few hours to beat, but to 100% it’s a different story. No hitting bosses and no death run achievements are the key to my heart. I definitely got my money’s worth, but there were ups and downs along the way. The controls were super hard to learn but rewarding after you programmed your brain, there are a handful of bugs/crashes. Looking to the future, I’m hoping the bugs get patched, control remapping gets updated, and new content becomes available. I really enjoyed my time with this game; I’ve even made a few videos on it. One is linked down below so let me know what you think!

If you’re into creature collector games, this is a great addition to the genre! It has a cute, simple story with likeable characters and a neat gameplay loop. Play solo or online with a friend, fly around and seek a variety of beautiful creatures to add to your flock. The map is surprisingly big, featuring many unique zones which house 60+ creatures in total for you to find. Locate whistles to be able to charm new species by using an awesome distance style minigame that feels fluid and easy to master. Some creatures can only be found by using a zoom mechanic while you fly around, and they are hidden well! Traverse the map by coasting or hit wind gusts to quickly get to your destination. Mark areas with map markers to help keep up where you need to go in order to fill your creature guide. Achievements aren’t too bad of a grind, but you will need to charm every creature in the game, and then catch enough of each species to become an expert catcher. The outfit customization is amazing, and the art style is a joy to look at for hour after hour. You find yourself starting with a small herd of flock, then before you know it, you gather a horde of elusive creatures to accompany you on your journey. Great indie game that was a joy to play through!

The voice acting and sound effects in this game are really, really good! There were instances throughout the game where you get a creepy feeling, but personally, I wouldn’t say the game is super scary. The story was great and all the characters have their own unique personalities. Gameplay feels good, no performance issues that I ran into, and visually an awesome experience. Take the role of a guy named Caz, traverse the oil rig to try and save your crew from a mysterious monster terrorizing those left alive. There are a ton (like a lot) of miss-able achievements, so be sure to follow a guide or get ready to do another playthrough. Overall, the game is pretty linear with just a little bit of exploration opportunities. I wouldn’t classify this as a walking sim, but I also wouldn’t say this is a full-on horror game either. Although this is a short experience, it is definitely a memorable one. I loved my time with this game, but for a lot of people it may be hard to justify the full price for the amount of gametime. Very well-made title that runs good on Steam Deck!
