Just how Half-Life 1 and Half-Life 2 were revolutionary at their times, Half-Life: Alyx elevates both the genre and the platform to a new level - even with its flaws. (there are a few, although I personally don't miss melee combat as much as others seem to)

Absolutely amazing visuals with rocksteady framerates. Eargasmic audio experience, especially in chapter 11. Oh, chapter 11. That and chapter 7 redefined what good level design is, not just for VR but in general. Ravenholm can go sulk in a corner now.

Before chapter 10 I thought this was one of the best games I ever played. After chapter 11 it IS the best game I ever played.
