Honestly, I can't get into this one like TS1. While TS1 definitely felt way too easy at times, this game feels way to difficult all the time. The home owners are now very alert, and they notice EVERYTHING. Also, this game is LITERALLY just TS1 but with stuff added. It's clear 90% of the assets were just copied over without much care. The homes all feel too similar to TS1. I don't want to bash this game too hard because (as the tip screen says) it is worked on by one person. The maps are bigger (which is great), but it also illustrates just how bland the homes feel. To be fair, I am only 4 hours in, but it just isn't as satisfying as TS1.

Fun so far. Works great on Linux with Proton. No visual issues, only input issues. My PS4 Dualshock doesn't work that well, but it might be a Linux thing because it has acted strange in general.

This game is mediocre. I really don't understand the meatriding about this game either. While this game does have some actual improvement compared to CoD, the missions are just so boring. The Russian campaign was great, and it had a nice variety of tasks to do. The scenery was also beautiful. Then, you move onto the British campaign in Africa. Dear god, it is so BORING. The tank parts were actually a great time (even if the tanks don't necessarily control that well). But, after that the African missions completely fall apart. It's a shame too because the scripted sequences in the African campaign are the best. The problem is that the next missions are just: Move to point A, kill enemies, move to point B, kill enemies, move to point C, kill enemies, fade to black". This gets very repetitive and it really bogs down the momentum the Russian campaign ended with. The American campaign carries the game at the end and makes it interesting. While most of the missions are just the same formula, the French environment is a sight for sore eyes. This repetitive formula makes the missions a lot less remarkable. I do agree that some of the missions in CoD were slightly over the top, but even while getting destroyed by it's broken AI it was a lot more fun. Some people say that Call of Duty 2 has an interesting story that you see progress throughout the campaign: You are schizophrenic. This game has very little in terms of actual story. A lot of people argue the gunplay is pretty good, but I think it's alright. It can be hit or miss. The animations for the enemies getting injured, dying, and clinging to life are well made. The problem with it, though, is the firearms have a lack of feedback. It can be very difficult at times to tell if an enemy is injured, or if I killed them. Also, the enemy AI throws way too many grenades. I really would say just play CoD 2003 instead of this. CoD is a lot more memorable than this game. Although, I have heard CoD 2's multiplayer is a lot better (I can't get multiplayer to work, though. It is an old game, so I can't really bash it for that).

I mean, it's alright. I feel like you hit a certain point where it doesn't feel worth it to keep grinding to reach new technology. I haven't really dived into all the automation but it doesn't seem that worth it either though.

They broke the combat with the newest update, buy on GOG instead. The GOG version hasn't been updated in 4 years which means the combat still works. It's also on sale right now so you can get the game and all the DLC for only $7.

Probably one of the better racing games I've played recently. I do really love the general presentation of the game: the graphics are really nice, the vehicles control great, and the variety of vehicles are decent. The neon hues as you race in the downtown streets or the yellow hue of the highway lights create a strong visual. Additionally, the rain effects and reflections also enhance the game's visuals by highlighting the game's lighting and reflections. Although, sometimes these colors and effects are extreme enough to the point where it can look like a glorified tech demo. For medium settings, these are respectable visuals. And, the performance isn't too bad either. I do believe it should, and could, run better. While looking at these vibrant landscapes you will also be spending a majority of the game also looking at your vehicles. While I am not much into the small details of car models, they look pleasant. For some reason, they give off this cartoon-like look but the quality of the modes themselves are decent. The vehicles also handle really nice, making it fun to race and maneuver around opponents. You can also create different builds for your vehicles for different track conditions, which adds to the customization. Even if it isn't as in-depth as other games. Many people complained that the soundtrack is too short, and I completely agree. By the first 2 hours I had basically heard every song in the soundtrack multiple times. It may be short, but the soundtrack is filled with bangers. Nothing was better than listening to BIRDZ for the first time and hearing Denzel lay bars with the ill-est beat blasting while running from the police. And here, I have to explain some of the game's flaws. I'll start with the biggest one: the police. I do really enjoy the idea of a special task force of police that are designed to hunt down racers. It's an idea I haven't seen in any other racing game. But the problem lies in the execution of the police. They don't feel like a 'specialized task force' and chase the player like ordinary video-game police. Most of the time I have played the game was on the "Hard" difficulty, and these police were relentless. They quickly rubber-band your vehicle and ram it with all their might, throwing themselves onto your vehicle until your car self-destructs. However, on "Normal" they are significantly slower and rarely get the chance to ram into you. On both difficulties them ramming into you will game-end your night. There are times where I would try to ram them just for half of my vehicle's health to evaporate while the cop took zero damage. The only time ramming the police is effective is if they slam into a wall, or end up missing a road that requires to be entered head-on (such as bridges with rails on the side). On the hardest difficulty most of the time I escaped the police was either through a lucky turn or through the police managing to make a severe mistake. In Need for Speed: Most Wanted, your heat level felt like it had a meaningful impact that could almost entirely destroy a run. Here, it doesn't really change things up too much. On "Hard" no matter what, anything past level 2 will chase you on sight, making the heat feel unimportant. And on "Normal" the opposite is true, where everyone is so blind they won't be able to see you at all. Another problem is the repetition in the game. The game can start to feel dull within the first 10 hours if you don't change things up. A lot of people agree that the map is efficiently used, but it really can start to feel bland. The country-side is just country and the city has no unique character despite how big the city is. Most of the city is skyscrapers and other builds with suburbs surrounding it. To me, it could have been much more interesting if they had expanded the city and gave it different sub-cultures. Why not have the bottom part be more bustling with businesses while having the Northern area have a different feel compared to the Southern area? While obviously the setting is in the Southern U.S., some inspiration from up North could have made the game feel more varied. A lack of unique monuments also makes the city feel repetitive. Another massive lack of environment details is the missing people. You can see people cheering on the sides of racing events, but then they disappear as soon as the race ends. Even basic NPCs that are impossible to hit would make the world feel more lively. And this ties into my point earlier. You can have one part of the city be filled with clubs and rowdy NPCs that cheer and party when you drive in souped-up cars near-by. Then, another part can be tropical suburbs (the suburban homes in the game don't have the distinct "Southern tropical" feel) with locals and vacationers that can feel irritated by you disturbing the peace. Even if they were rudimentary they could make the world feel more lively and enjoyable. Clearly they aren't too bad at modeling humans either because the characters in this game look impressive for a 2019 game. Just like the environment's presentation, I also feel mixed about the UI's presentation. Some things about the UI are great, it's mostly easy to navigate and gets the job done. But more effort could have been put into it. For starters, the main menu isn't that great. It can look cool in screenshots, but the overly harsh colors with the goofy lighting combined with the pitch black background gives me a headache to look at. The loading screens somewhat suffer from this too. Whether you are loading into the day or night the background remains the same. It would have been cool if there was different loading screens for these two times. Another issue is the objective menu. Remember the keypad menu from Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012? It's back, but somehow worse. I couldn't believe MW2012 somehow did something better than Heat, but it did. Trying to use the menu is somehow a pain. While there are some more things I could praise or nit-pick, I would say the game is overall great. I would recommend picking it up on sale.

Apparently I never reviewed this game. I love it. It does have issues on PC though.
